GTM Report Reveals SolarCity Leads Market in Solar Installations
GTM Research released a report this year confirming SolarCity is once again #1 in both residential and commercial deployments for 2015 fiscal year. SolarCity installed 34.8% of all residential solar installations and 13.8% of all commercial installations in the United States.
New SolarCity Funds SolarCity has announced a number of new funds to cover the capital cost of solar equipment and installation, making it possible for many homeowners to pay less for solar power. Recent closings include a $227 million cash equity fund with John Hancock, $188 million in financing from Bank of America Merrill Lynch and $150 million with Credit Suisse. SolarCity has now created 50 project funds with 21 different financing partners.

SolarCity Appoints Jon Wellinghoff
Chief Policy Officer
The former Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Chairman will report to CEO Lyndon Rive. His responsibilities will include advising on federal and state policy for SolarCity and the overseeing of both regulatory and legislative affairs for the company.
Gigafactory Construction Continues
The $900 million plant is expected to reach full production by Q2 of 2017. The plant will employ about 1,460 workers once it hits full production, churning out 9,000 to 10,000 solar panels daily at a factory that will be the biggest solar panel production facility in the Western Hemisphere.
