HoMrever it would be interesting to discover whether- the theory is also applicable among civil service workers in a small isolated town, in a developing countrl? such as Malavsia. Questionnaires were distributed and collected.frorn one hundred respondents working in a government department in a small town of Gua Musang in Peninsular Mala-vsia. Support-for the S-V-fit theory was obtained, as results suggested that the greater the discrepancy between the supplies and values of work quantih: varieh: powei: responsibiliv and concentration required at work, the lesser was the satisfaction. The implication therefore was that if managers were desirous of improving satisfaction of their workers, the>> should ensure that their. workers receive neither too much nor too little work varieh: power: re- sponsihilih)and concentration at workTfor either state can result in lower satisfaction. Walau bagaimanapun, tiada kajian sebeluin ini yang rnengkaji kesan perbezaan di antara persepsi dengan apa yang diidarnkan, tentang kuantiti ker:ja, kepelbagaian kerja, kuasa, tanggunglawuh clan tumpuan terhadap pekerjaan. Kajian ini bertuiuan untuk mernenuhijurang tersebut. Kajian ini menganalisis tentang perbezaan antara supplies dan values dan huhungannva dengan kepuasan ker-ja. Yang kedua, teori S-V telah dikukuhkan di negara-negara rnaju sepei- ti Arnerika dan Britain. Walau hagaimanapun, adalah rnenarik jika kitu dtzpat nzernastikan sarna ada teori ini holeh digunakan di negara-negara mernbangun seperti Malavsia. Borang-borang soal selidik telah diedarkan dan dikutip daripada seratus responden yang bekerja di sebuah jabatan kerajaan di Gua Musang. iaitir sebuah pekan kecil di Malavsia.
