Kanon Magnetic Sphere Product Recovery Systems are used to recover

product from pipelines once the product supply has been exhausted or a

particular production run has been completed.

Earlier versions of this type of system were known as Pigging systems.

The name originates from the oil industry. Discs connected by a rod were propelled through oil pipelines to determine the amount of

corrosion on the inside walls. These disc sets were known as Pipeline Internal Gauges or PIGS…………

Why is it called a pig ?

Another, more colourful explanation, is that when Pigs were sent through oil pipelines, to remove the build-up of paraffin wax from the internal wall, they made a squealing noise like a pig and the

name stuck!…………

The Magnetic Sphere System has been tested by the Campden & Chorleywood

Food Research Association, against hygiene criteria laid down by the

European Hygienic Equipment Design Group, and is recommended by

System.A Twin Sphere system is recommended when either the

Transfer line is full of residual water, or when the product being introduced is prone to aeration.

The first Magnetic Sphere precedes the introduced product through the Transfer line and prevents contamination or

aeration.If neither case applies a Single Sphere System is suitable.
