Assisted Living Facility in California asked our studio to come up with a proposal for their two buildings.
The approach our group took was to combine the two buildings to create a stronger communtiy within the whole Atria facility. We also decided to create larger private suites to al-low for a more home like feeling. We paid special attention to the needs of the elderly, including cove lighting and a welcoming color scheme that worked well with the SpanishArchitecture of the building shell.

The challenge was to create a grad studio using found spare materials. The project was completely sustain-able. We reused and repurposed old desks, chairs and file cabinets. After interviewing grad students, we decided on an overall spacial arrangement and what components needed to be included.
To complete the challenge, the class divided into groups according to components. My desk design was selected to be built, so I was part of the desk group from start to finish.
Created using Found Materials and Repur-posed. Drawings created using AutoCad

Individual Project
Create a space inspired by the words: ceremony, solitude and contempla-tive.
Through the use of angles and minimal colors, the space is a blank canvas. The angles and use of water are stimulating and create an at-moshpere suitable for quiet reflec-tion or thoughtful conversation. The openness of the space is intended to allow ceremonies of any size to gather in the space.
Created using Sketch Up

The location is Mies Van der Rohe’s Lake Shore Drive apartment complex in Chicago, IL. The challenge is to combine to apartments together and meet the needs the client and stay true to the original architecture.
The city and lake have lives of their own, constantly changing and mov-ing; each has their moments of peace and chaos. Much like the city, the space needs to be adaptable to meet the clients high demand careers and their involved social life. The space is designed to create a relaxed, stress free atmosphere, that can quickly be vamped up for entertaining. By using curves and light in a controlled man-ner the space is elegant and tailored, yet it has that extra attention to detail that makes it stand out among the other apartments in the complex

Create a Hotel in Miami Flordia. Groups must work together to create a complete plan of the building shell, in-terior floor plans and lansdscape plan.
Our group worked together to create a space the envelopes the user and creates intimate spaces for the guests to enjoy. The building and the interior guest rooms are placed on an angle that allows an ocean view to be seen from every room. The hotel allows the users to unwrap, unwind and induldge.
