Responsible for conducting an ergonomic evaluation, task analysis, and developing ergonomic interventions for the prevention and control of occupational injuries and illnesses for the WWJ windshield wiper division. Also, supervised a group of industrial engineering Work Design students in performing task analyses and ergonomic interventions for a portion of this division. An Approach to Defining and Modeling Core Processes, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. Master’s Thesis, May 1998. Developed a methodology for defining and modeling core processes. The methodology was developed in conjunction with a re-engineering effort headed by NASA’s Stennis Space Center involving three other NASA sites that perform rocket propulsion testing. The project also included an investigation of the four sites response to change efforts. An Investigation of Cubital Tunnel Syndrome in the Field of Cosmetology. August 1997-December 1997. Employed four provocative tests for detecting the presence of cubital tunnel syndrome in cosmetologists. A subjective questionnaire was also administered to identify any previous conditions contributing to a positive response. Occupational causal factors and ergonomic interventions were also developed to reduce the risk of developing cubital tunnel syndrome. Development of a Computer Program for Identifying the Presence of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. January 1996-May 1996. Developed a web site that provided information on carpal tunnel syndrome. The site included basic information on carpal tunnel syndrome, a personal history questionnaire relating to risk factors of carpal tunnel syndrome, and instructions for performing provocative tests to detecting the presence of carpal tunnel syndrome. The results of the questionnaire and the tests were used to generate an estimation of the level of risk the individual was exposed to with respect to developing carpal tunnel syndrome. Catfish Filleting Ergonomic Analysis. August 1993-December 1993. Performed a comprehensive ergonomic evaluation of a catfish filleting operation and developed engineering and administrative interventions to improve productivity, safety, and operator comfort while preventing and controlling the development of injuries and illnesses.
