You get this beach pretty well to yourself.

Here’s where you launch your boat on Karragarra.

And it’s also where the barge drops you off.

Ride your jetski around the islands.

Everyday if you want because it’s 5mins to the water.

Just walk along the beach and watch it all happen.

Your kids would not be on their electronic devices anywhere near as much because they would have this as their playground.

Not quite sunset but you get the idea.

Out on a sandbar doing your fishing thing.

Coming home to Karragarra after work on the mainland.

Up to 38 ferry services per day.

Karragarra is the “resort island”

Now that’s a postcard you could send to your friends.

And on the back you’d write Living in paradise, come for a visit.

Going to where? Oh. Australia.

North Straddie in the background will keep you well and truly occupied as it will take you years to explore its’ 38km x 11km boundaries. Plus there’s South Stradbroke Island. All 21km x 2.5km of it. Both are also tourist destinations.

So for you, how does this compare to Mt Isa?

They’ve both got water.... rocks... sand....but they just don’t compare.

Karragarras’ population with you would be <100.

You get to travel to and from the mainland on fast, twin hull waterbuses.

In a medical emergency, you will be flown by helicopter to Brisbane hospital and get there quicker than from a lot of suburbs on the mainland.

For less urgent medical cases there is an ambulance waterbus to take you to the mainland.

Each Island has an ambulance.

Each island is serviced by its own locally based paramedic.

Karragarra: 1.5km long x 0.5km wide

Yes. There are mangroves on Karragarra.
