KAST has worked closely with the Ford Sayre Nordic Ski
program for a few years now. We take pride in being able
to extend this opportunity to families as we understand the
need for parents to work. The Kindergarten-2nd grade one
day a week program is offered at Garipay. Practices are
held on Tuesday afternoons. KAST will provide a large
bucket that will be available beginning Monday evenings for
parents to drop their children’s skies in. (Skies are not al-
lowed on any of the school buses, so please plan accordingly)
Children will need to come to KAST on Tuesdays with
their appropriate clothing; we will offer a snack and help
get them changed into all their gear. We will hold children
back if they are missing essential items or do not have
appropriate gear based on the weather. In the past years
we have found it is helpful if parents pack a separate pair of
waterproof gloves as often the pair of gloves they wore
during the day get wet at school recess.
Once all the children are changed and ready we make the
short walk up to Garipay as a group. After arriving at Ga-
ripay KAST staff help all the children get clicked into their
skies and signed in with their coaches. KAST staff remain at
Garipay for the duration of practice and collect KAST chil-
dren again once practice is over.
If you wish to pick up your child directly from Ford Sayre,
please send an email to our Absent Email at
[email protected], so we know to bring
their back pack with them, and then look for Ms. Jenn or
any of the other KAST staff to sign them out. The group is
usually back to the Ray School by 5pm or shortly there
after! If you have any questions you may email Nicole at
Everyone has been having so much fun in the art
room! It’s been a busy place and Ms. Angela and
Ms. Amelia have been working hard putting togeth-
er fun and interesting projects! The art room is
often the place filled to the brim with eager faces
waiting to create the day’s project. They’ve been
making fire dogs, president themed self-portraits, a
thankful tree (which was displayed in the KAST
room), and dinosaur fossils.
Looking ahead you can keep an eye out for “Create
your own Dinosaurs”, applesauce ornaments, finger
knit scarves, & pinecone penguins.

In the Gym & On the Playground…. Everyone has been having a blast playing group games both in the gym and out on
the soccer field, as well as enjoying free time. Now that it has begun to get dark
before KAST is over we have our headlamps out and ready to go. We get them out
on an almost daily basis so we can extend our playtime outside. As you pull in for
pick up be sure to look for some little lights bobbing around Little Playspace.

Cassie has been plan-
ning away! Last
month everyone had
lots of fun with tinfoil
tree art, leaf wind
chimes, corn mosa-
ics, and fuse beads
(just to name a few)! Looking ahead Cassie
will be making snow slime, snowflake mobiles,
and giving the kids a chance to design their
own window stickers.
Stuart has been balancing
a rotation of planned
group activities and free
time. As basketball season
kicks into full swing, we will continue to extend snack time
to give everyone the most time possible in the gym. Some
of the gym staples this month have been Elimination, Basket-
ball, Soccer, and Football!
Everyone has been enjoying any chance we get to go out-
side. The skeleton scavenger hunt we had during our Hal-
loween party was a big hit! We have our supply of head-
lamps and flashlights out and ready to go and have been able
to extend our outdoors time as a result. As you pull in for
pick up be sure to look and see if you can find some little
lights bobbing around on the basket-
ball court or baseball field!

This year we were able to team up with Gina Ca-
possela and offer Belly Dancing at Adventurers!
Everyone was given a chance to try it out and see
what belly dancing was all about. A group of girls
who really enjoyed the experience were able to go
on and learn a full belly dancing routine which they
preformed during the belly dance show at the
Lebanon Opera House on Saturday, November
19th. The girls had a wonderful time and it was fun
to watch them work hard to learn something new.
Jenn has continued
to offer fun and crea-
tive STEM projects
on Wednesdays! The
kids have had a
chance to experi-
ment with making
their own balloon cars, making flood barri-
ers, and building tennis ball towers! This
month they be working on canister rockets,
rescue devices, and completing a water tow-
er challenge!
