Lent Course

‘Nothing More and Nothing Less’ Tuesdays: 20th & 27th Feb, 6th, 13th & 20th March

‘Nothing More and Nothing Less’ is a lent course based on the powerful film I, Daniel Blake. It uses the film to start discussion about our Christian response to suffering and injustice. Join us for discussion, prayer and ideas for positive action.

The five group sessions are entitled: • Systems of Oppression • Staying Human • Compassion in the Darkness • Fighting Back or Giving In? • The Suffering Servant

Nothing More and Nothing Less is written by Virginia Moffatt and published by DLT books. Marie Pattison facilitates

Plus an opportunity to see the film I, Daniel Blake Tues, 13th Feb | 7 - 9pm

An Evening of Remembrance

The Holocaust as Personal Experience On 27 January 1945 Russian armies liberated Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. Each year on this anniversary we honour the memory of those who were killed and salute the courage and fortitude of those who survived. Our keynote speaker will be David Arnold MBE. His grandfather and mother came to this country as refugees from Germany; his grandmother and uncle were murdered in the Holocaust. David will be sharing some insights with us, particularly how and why he is still inspired by his sense of loss to build respect, trust and friendship with people of all faiths and none. David is Co-chair of Manchester Council of Christians and Jews and a valued friend of our community.
