It has been great visiting classrooms this week and asking students questions about their quality learning and work they are producing. There is a lot on at KSPS in the final weeks of the term with PLP meetings, Fun Run and Fun Day! School Review We have been very lucky to have the Regional Director of Katherine and the Regional Director of Darwin visit our school to conduct a school review. Mr Trevor Watts and Miss Aderyn Chatterton were welcomed by our student leaders (Hannah, Declan, Libby and Jade) yesterday morning. Our guests have worked with school leadership, teachers, support staff, admin, parents and school council to gather evidence to review KSPS against the National improvement criteria. The review was completed today and has been a very valuable experience in having high quality feedback about the great things that are happening at KSPS and feedback to consider for school improvement. A report will be presented to the school with our commendations, affirmations and recommendations in the near future. Thank you to everyone in our school community who participated in this process. PLP Reviews Next week teachers will be conducting personalised learning plan review meetings with parents and students. The meetings will be held to review your child’s current progress towards their targets, set new targets and discuss new strategies for further improvement. This is a valuable process to know where your student is at with their learning, where they are headed and to identify their learning journey to reach their goals. Notes have been sent home with your child to inform you of the days your teacher will be available to conduct these meetings. I encourage you to please contact the office to organise a time review your child’s PLP. Adidas School Fun Run KSPS are holding our Adidas School Fun Run event tomorrow at 8:30am! I encourage as many parents as possible to attend this event and participate in the run, by completing the running stations with your child. Last year’s event was an outstanding success and this year looks like it will be even better. This is a fundraising event for our school and students thus far have done a very good job in collecting sponsorship money for their participation. I look forward to seeing you here tomorrow.
