My name is Kathleen Wong. I started school in 1994 in Honolulu. I graduated from high school in 2007 in

Honolulu. I first went to college at UHM in Fall 2007. When I finish my degree, I hope to

become an elementary school teacher.

I remember there were book tapes (plastic bags that contained a book with the matching cassette tape) hanging around in the corner of my classroom› In order to listen to them, you had to put the

cassette tape in a cassette tape player and put on those massive metal earphones.

In high school, I took a digital media course that taught me the basics of:› HTML web design› Video production and editing› Microsoft Word and Excel

…which I still use all of the above today.

Flip video cameras for every student.

It’s something that I personally want but do not own yet.

These handheld video cameras would allow me to see from their perspective and then at the end of the year, the whole class could help put all of the footage together to create an classroom mini movie.

Ideal classroom of the future› Every classroom will be equipped with white

boards and smart boards. › Each student would have a tablet where

they can write their assignment on something and then it automatically transfers to an electronic copy to save paper. (example: Livescribe Smart Pen)
