Today, after six decades of successful operations, KAVIKA has emerged as a

renowned name for Distribution Transformers in the range of 25 KVA to 500 KVA

up to 11 kV Class as well as for custom built / special type transformers as per

specific requirements

Karnataka vidyuth karkhane limited is a successor to the erstwhile government

Electric factory, which was established in the year 1933, the oldest transformer industry

in the country and fully owned by the government of Karnataka. In the year 1976, when

administrative set up to facilitate up gradation of manufacturing activities by adopting

latest technology, the company, KAVIKA was formed. The company entered into

technical collaboration with world renowned M/s. Westinghouse Electric Corporation,

USA, to upgrade the transformer technology and to manufacture completely self

protected (CSP) transformer. Our engineers were trained in this corporation to adopt

their technical know-how in the manufacture of transformers.

The company is manufacturing Distribution & power transformer ranging from 15

KVA to 1600 KVA, 22 KV class. Presently, the company is manufacturing

transformers ranging from 25 KVA to 500 KVA, which are in demand.

The company is in the line of manufacture of distribution & power transformers

since more than six decade. It is having qualified engineers, supervisors, technicians

and various other supporting staff/employees who have put in number of year of

services and capable of manufacturing good quality transformers.

Modernization and diversification:

During the year 1993-1994 the company has installed a plant for manufacture of aluminium

conductors for captive consumption, besides commissioning wire drawing plant, radical

drilling machine, pollution control equipment, to make the work spot environment friendly.

The company had installed an annealing furnace costing about Rs.20laks for reducing the
