    IMPORTANT POINTS RELATED TO COMMON ENTRANCE TEST 2014

    AND ALLOTMENT OF SEATS

    POINTS TO BE NOTED AND COMPLIED PRIOR TO ENTERANCE TEST

    1. The application form is a combinatio

    Application Form using blue or black ink ballpoint pen only. No item should

    be left blank as incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.

    3. A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous years will

    not be eligible for allotment of a seat to the same discipline during 2014. However, he / she is eligible to appear for

    CET-2014 for allotment of seats in any other discipline. Eg: If a candidate had selected Engineering seat during

    previous year, he / she will not be considered for allotment of seats in the same discipline. However he / she is

    eligible to appear for CET-2014 for selection of Medical / Dental / ISM&H / Architecture/B.Sc agriculture and

    Farm science courses, B-Pharma, Pharma-D etc if he / she is eligible. Automatically the previous year selected

    seat gets cancelled, upon selection of a seat in a different discipline during the year.

    4. The information / particulars furnished by the candidates in their CET - 2014 application form will be deemed as

    Final and be the basis for further process. No change in any information furnished will be entertained.

    5. Before claiming eligibility for Government seats, make sure that you satisfy any one of the eligibility clauses

    detailed in Item 6 of Chapter I of the brochure.The candidates who do not satisfy any of the eligibility clauses

    will not be eligible for admission to Government seats.

    6. If the information furnished by the candidates in the application form or any other documents submitted by the

    candidates / parents are found to be false / incorrect, such candidates seat will be cancelled at any point of time

    during her / his course of study and criminal proceedings as per rules will be initiated by the Government against

    the candidate.

    7. Applicants who are wards of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants are required to appear for the Common Entrance Test

    for admission to professional courses for the seats earmarked for them by the Government. (Refer Item7(5) of

    Chapter I of the brochure.)

    8. The information furnished by the candidate in the CET-2014 application form with regard to Caste /

    Category and Annual Income remains the same for the purpose of assignment of ranks / selection or

    allotment of a seat and no change will be entertained in future for any reason.

    12. If you have studied TEN full academic years continuously from 1st to 10th standard in Kannada Medium, then

    you are eligible to claim reservation under Kannada Medium quota.

    13. Candidates who have submitted

    DURING THE ENTRANCE TEST

    1. The Common Entrance Test will be held for TWO DAYS on four different sessions on 01-05-2014 and

    02-05-2014.

    2. The Kannada Language Test will be conducted only in Bangalore centres on 03-05-2014 in one session from

    11.30 am to 12.30 pmfor both Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga Candidates.

    3. Candidates applying under Agriculturist Quota for Under Graduate Degree Programmes of Agriculture /

    Horticulture / Veterinary Universities etc., will have to appear for Practical Examination scheduled on 20th May

    2014 in the practical examination centre opted by the candidate in the application form.

    4. The candidates must appear for Common Entrance Test in PCB subjects for admission to Medical / Dental /

    Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy courses,B.Sc. Agriculture, Forestry, Sericulture, Agri-Biotech,

    Horticulture, B.H.Sc., Home Science, Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry and PCM subjects

    for admission to Engineering / Technology Courses, B.Tech ( Agriculture Engineering), PCMB for B.Tech.(Food

    Technology, Dairy Technology,), B.F.Sc (Fisheries Science), B.Tech ( Food Science and Technology and B.Sc

    (Agriculture & Marketing Co-operation) courses conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority. In case

    of admission to B-Pharma Pharma-D, 2nd year B-Pharma Lateral Entry courses the candidate can take up

    the Common Entrance Test in either PCM / PCB or PCMB subjects. But the marks obtained in PCM or PCB

    (whichever is higher ) only will be considered . For admission to Architecture course candidates must appear

    for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture and have to submit

    Aptitude Test in Architecture) in Karnataka. Last date to appear for NATA is 20-05-2014.

    5. The candidates should read the instructions printed on the OMR answer sheets before answering. The candidates

    have to mark the correct answers on the OMR answer sheets using BLUE OR BLACK INK BALL POINT PEN

    ONLY.

    in the space provided on the bottom portion of OMR answer sheet before handing over the same to the room

    invigilator of their CET Exam Centres.

    7. After completion of each session of the test, the candidates will be allowed to carry replica of their OMR Answer

    Sheet. Such replicas should be preserved for a period of one year.

    8. THERE WILL BE NO NEGATIVE MARKING IN RESPECT OF WRONG ANSWERS BUT MARKS WILL

    NOT BE AWARDED IN RESPECT OF MORE THAN ONE ANSWER INDICATED AGAINST A QUESTION

    BY A CANDIDATE ON THE OMR ANSWER SHEETS.

    9. The minimum passing marks for all Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates shall be12out of 50 marks

    in Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA in order to be considered for assignment of ranks and to become

    eligible for allotment of seats in CET-2014. (The Kannada Language Test paper will be of 4th Standard).

    AFTER ENTRANCE TEST

    1. The ANSWER KEY will be published within SEVEN days after the completion of the entrance test on the KEA

    completion of CET - 2014 on or before 20-05-2014.However, the candidates who submit photocopy of their QE

    marks cards after 20-05-2014will get their ranks before the commencement of the allotment of seats or whenever

    they submit the Q. E. marks card.

    4. The rank list for Medical and Dental courses will be prepared and published only on the basis of marks obtained

    by candidates in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test. The candidates who secure 50% (GM) of marks

    in PCB subjects in the qualifying examination and also in the Common Entrance Test will only be eligible for

    assignment of Medical / Dental ranks. However, the marks in PCB subjects in both Q. E. and CET will be 40% incase of candidates belonging to SC, ST, CAT 1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B categories. Further, the candidates (GM) who

    secure less than 50% of marks taken together in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test and less than 40% in

    case of SC, ST, CAT 1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B categories, will not be awarded any rank for admission to Medical /

    Dental courses.

    5. The rank list for Indian System of Medicine & Homeopathy courses will be published only in respect of candidates

    (GM) who secure 50% of marks taken together in PCB subjects in the qualifying examination; (40% in case of

    SC, ST, CAT 1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B category candidates) irrespective of marks secured in PCB subjects in the

    Common Entrance Test.

    6. Farm Science Courses:

    a) In the case of B.Sc, in-Agriculture,Forestry, Sericulture, Agriculture Biotech, Horticulture and Bachelor of

    Homescience courses, candidate who has passed the Q.E with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional

    subject, merit will be determined based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and

    Biology subjects in both Common Entrance Test and the Qualifying Examination, by taking the marks in equal

    proportions, common rank list will be prepared and published for admission to B.Sc.(Agri), B.Sc.(Forestry),

    B.H.Sc., B.Sc. (Sericulture), B.Sc. (Agri. Biotech), B.Sc.(Horticulture) courses. A separate Practical Rank

    list will also be prepared and published for the eligible Agriculturist quota candidates, who have scored a

    minimum of 50% marks in Agriculture Practical Examination.

    b) in the case of Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H) course candidate who

    has passed the Q.E with an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English

    subjects (40% SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates) merit will be determined only on

    the basis of marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects taken together in the

    Common Entrance Test 2014. Rank list will be prepared and published for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H.

    courses . A separate Practical Rank list will also be prepared and published for the eligible Agriculturist quotacandidates, who have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Agriculture Practical Examination.

    c) In the case of Bachelor of Technology in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Food Science and Technology,

    Bachelor of Fishery Science, and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Marketing and Co-operation courses

    candidate who has passed the Q.E with Physic, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects,

    merit will be determined on the basis of the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry,

    Mathematics and Biology subjects in both Common Entrance Test 2014 and the Qualifying Examination,by

    taking the marks in equal proportions, common rank list will be prepared and published for admission

    to B.Tech. (Food Technology), B.Tech.(Dairy Tech.), B.F.Sc, B.Tech. (Food Science & Tech.) and B.Sc.

    (Ag. Marketing and Co-operation) courses. A separate Practical Rank list will also be prepared and published

    for the eligible Agriculturist quota candidates, who have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Agriculture

    Practical Examination.

    d) In the case of Bachelor of Technology in Agriculture Engineering course candidate who has passed theQ.E with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects, merit will be determined on the basis

    of the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in both Common

    Entrance Test 2014 and the Qualifying Examination by taking the marks in equal proportions, rank list will

    be prepared and published for admission to B-Tech in Agriculture Engineering course. A separate Practical

    Rank list will also be prepared and published for the eligible Agriculturist quota candidates, who have scored

    a minimum of 50% marks in Agriculture Practical Examination.

    7. B-Pharma courses :

    For admission to B-Pharma : candidates should have passed 2nd PUC / 12th Std in PCB / PCM with minimum

    45% marks in aggregate for GM candidates, (40% for SC/ST, Category-I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B candidates) or

    passed Diploma in Pharmacy examination from an Institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under

    In case of B-Pharma, merit will be determined on the basis of performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry

    highest in Common Entrance Test 2014. Rank list will be prepared and published for admission to B-Pharma

    course.

    8. Pharma-D courses:

    For admission to Pharma-D : Candidates should have completed a minimum of 17 years as on 31st December

    2014 and should have passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistryand Mathematics or passed in Diploma in Pharmacy examination from an Institution approved by the Pharmacy

    Council of India under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

    In case of Pharma-D, merit will be determined on the basis of performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry

    and Biology subjects or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects i.e, PCB or PCM marks whichever is

    highest in the Common Entrance Test 2014. Rank list will be prepared and published for admission to Pharma-D

    course

    Candidates who have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course seeking admission to 1st year Pharma-D should

    to KEA on or before 20.05.2014 . Failing which Rank will not be assigned to the candidate.

    9. 2nd Year B-Pharma (Lateral Entry) courses:

    For admission to 2nd Year B-Pharma (Lateral Entry) : Candidates should have passed in Diploma in Pharmacyexamination from an Institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy

    SC/ST Category-I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B candidates). Merit will be determined on the basis of performance of the

    candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects i.e, PCB

    or PCM marks whichever is highest in the Common Entrance Test 2014. Rank list will be prepared and published

    for admission to 2nd Year B-Pharma (Lateral Entry).

    Candidates who have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course seeking admission to 2nd year B-Pharma (Lateral

    boldly written to KEA on or before 20.05.2014. Failing which Rank will not be assigned to the candidate.

    10. The rank list for Engineering & Technology courses will be published only in respect of candidates (GM) who

    secure 45% of marks taken together in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination, (40% in case of SC, ST,

    CAT 1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B category candidates) irrespective of marks secured in PCM subjects in the Common

    Entrance Test.

    11. The rank list for Architecture course will be published only in respect of candidates who have studied Mathematics

    as one of the optional subjects and secured an aggregate minimum of 50% marks (GM) in the Qualifying

    examination (45% in case of SC, ST, CAT1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B candidates, person with disability of mental

    retardation or mental illness (including dyslexia) category candidates) and 40% marks in NATA (including SC,

    ST, CAT 1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B categories. Last date to appear for NATA is 20-05-2014. The candidate who

    wants to select only Architecture seat need not to appear for Common Entrance Test, but they have to submit the

    (on which the CET Number is

    boldly written).

    12. The candidates are requested to verify their qualifying examination marks printed on the result sheetswithout fail, if there is any discrepancy with reference to qualifying examination marks, the same should be

    17. KEA will publish on its website http://kea.kar.nic.in all the details of candidates such as candidates name,

    fathers name, category under which seat allotted, annual income of the parent etc., who are allotted seats under

    reserved category in Medical, Dental, ISM & H, Engineering, Architecture and Under Graduate courses offered

    by Agriculture / Horticulture / Veterinary Science B-Pharma, Pharma-D, 2nd year B-Pharma ( lateral entry) afterthe Casual Vacancy Round.

    18. A candidate may have option to select Medical / Engineering etc seat in other boards like AICTE, AIIMS,

    CHANGE OF COMMON ENTRANCE TEST CELL (CET Cell) ASKARNATAKA EXAMINATIONS AUTHORITY

    The Government of Karnataka established Common Entrance Test Cell in the year 1994 for conducting of

    Entrance Test and to determine the merit of the candidates for admission to Professional courses such as Medical,

    Dental, Indian Systems of Medicine & Homoeopathy, Engineering / Technology & Architecture courses, Farm

    science, B-Pharma, Pharma-D courses.

    To expand the activities of the CET Cell, the Government by order No. ED. 212 TEC 2006 dated 20-12-2006 has

    converted the Common Entrance Test Cell in to an autonomous body Registered under Societies Registration Act

    1960 called Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

    In all your future correspondence with the KEA do not forget to mention either your CET number or the application

    serial number along with complete postal address and contact telephone / mobile number.

    KEA will allot the seats ONLINE in the order of merit and based on the priority of options obtained from the candidates.

    Candidates will have the choice to enter as many numbers of options as they desire. Candidates may note that there

    CHAPTER I

    1. INTRODUCTION

    The Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2014 is being conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility / merit,

    for admission of Karnataka candidates and the ward/s of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants to the First year or First semester

    of full time courses for Government share of seats in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy& Yoga, Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Farm Science courses i.e, B.Sc. (Agriculture), B.Sc. (Sericulture),

    B.Sc (Horticulture), B.Sc (Forestry), B.Sc. Agri Bio Tech, BHSc.(Home Science), B.Tech (Agri.Engg), B.Tech (Food

    Technology), B.Tech (Dairy Tech), B.FSc (Fisheries), B.Tech (Food Science &Tech)., B.Sc. (Agri. Marketing &

    Co-Op) , B.Pharma, Pharma-D and 2nd year B.Pharma Lateral Entry course, in Government / University / Private Aided

    / Private Un-Aided Professional Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka for the academic year 2014-15.

    Admission to Government seats shall be made in accordance with the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission

    to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006 (in short Rules) as amended from time to

    time and therefore the details and instructions contained in this Brochure are subject to the said Rules. In case of any

    discrepancy, the Rules shall prevail.

    2. MODE OF CONDUCTING THE TESTIn order to obtain admission to any of the professional courses through KEA, a candidate must appear for the Common

    Entrance Test, which will be conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore (Herein after referred to

    as KEA). The Common Entrance Test-2014 will be conducted at 52places, spread over Karnataka (See Appendix - I for

    details). Candidates who have studied the Qualifying Examination within Karnataka should write CET-2014 in a test

    centre assigned by the KEA within the district in which the candidate has studied 2nd PUC or 12th standard.

    * KANNADA LANGUAGE TEST: The candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats under Horanadu &Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses and whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu or Kodava, will have to undergo a Kannadalanguage test, to establish their ability to speak, read and write Kannada. The Kannada Language test will be conductedby KEA as per the above schedule only in Bangalore Centre; therefore such candidates will have to appear for theCommon Entrance Test - 2014 in a test centre located at BANGALORE Only. The relevant photocopy of the original admission ticket should be produced on the day of Kannada Language Test.

    The minimum passing marks for allHoranadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates shall be 12 out of 50 marks inKannada Language Test conducted by KEA in order to be considered for assignment of ranks and to become eligible forallotment of seats in CET-2014. (The Kannada Language Test paper will be of 4th Standard).

    However, the Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates who have studied TEN full academic years in KannadaMedium from 1st standard to 10th standard in places outside the state of Karnataka need not appear for Kannada LanguageTest conducted by KEA.

    Based on the performance of the candidates in the Common Entrance Test and the Qualifying Examination, as the casemay be, the merit / rank list will be prepared and published. All the eligible candidates will be considered for allotment ofseats in the order of their merit / rank and based on the options and as per the seat matrix issued by the Government.

    3. WHO CAN APPLY?

    a) For Medical / Dental courses :A candidate who has passed the second year Pre-University or 12th standardor equivalent examination (herein after referred to as the Qualifying Examination or Q. E. in short) withPhysics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained anaggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in the Q. E. and who has securednot less than 50% of marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in the Common EntranceTest (herein after referred to as CET) is eligible for admission to Medical and Dental courses. 40% of marks inboth Q. E. and CET in case of SC, ST, Category-I and OBC Category candidates.

    Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in the Common EntranceTest, the Medical / Dental rank list will be prepared and published for admission to Medical and Dental courses.

    b) For Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy courses: A candidate who has passed the Q. E. with Physics,Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregateminimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in the Q. E. is eligible for admission toAyurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses. 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST,

    CategoryI and OBC Category candidates.

    Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in both Common EntranceTest and the Qualifying Examination by taking the marks in equal proportions, the ISM&H rank list will beprepared and published separately for admission to Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy/Yoga courses.

    Further, the candidates seeking admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda /Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy &Yoga courses, should have completed the age of Seventeen Years as on 31st December of 2014.

    c) For admission to Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Forestry, Sericulture, Agriculture Biotech, Horticulture andBachelor of Homescience courses, candidate who has passed the Q. E. with Physics, Chemistry and Biology asoptional subjects.

    Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in both CommonEntrance Test and the Qualifying Examination by taking the marks in equal proportions, common rank list will beprepared and published separately for admission to B.Sc.(Agri), B.Sc.(Forestry), B.H.Sc., B.Sc.(Sericulture), B.Sc.

    (Agri.Biotech), B.Sc.(Horticulture) courses.

    d) For admission to Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry course candidate who has obtained anaggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects in Qualifying Examination.(40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

    Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in the Common EntranceTest, the B.V.Sc & A.H. rank list will be prepared and published for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. courses.

    e) For admission to Bachelor of Technology in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Food Science and Technology,Bachelor of Fishery Science, and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Marketing and Co-operation coursescandidate who has passed the Q. E. with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects.

    Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects in bothCommon Entrance Test and the Qualifying Examination by taking the marks in equal proportions, common rank

    list will be prepared and published separately for admission to B.Tech.(Food Technology), B.Tech.(Dairy Tech.),

    B.F.Sc, B.Tech.(Food Science & Tech.) and B.Sc.(Ag. Marketing and Co-operation) courses.

    f) For admission to Bachelor of Technology in Agriculture Engineering course, candidate who has passed the Q. E.with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects.

    Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in both CommonEntrance Test and the Qualifying Examination by taking the marks in equal proportions, common rank list will beprepared and published separately for admission to B.Tech. (Agri.Engg.) course

    g) For admission to B-Pharma candidates should have passed 2nd PUC / 12t Std in PCB/PCM with minimum 45%

    marks in aggregate for GM candidates, 40% for SC/ST, Category-I and OBC or passed Diploma in Pharmacyexamination from an Institution approved by the Pharmacy council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacyact and has secured a minimum of 45% of marks for GM candidates (40% for SC/ST, Category-I and OBCcandidates) .

    Merit will be determined on the basis of performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biologysubjects or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects i.e, PCB or PCM marks whichever is highest inCommon Entrance Test 2014. Common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to

    B-Pharma.

    Candidates who have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course seeking admission to B-Pharma should compulsorily before 20.05.2014. Failing which Rank will not be assigned to the candidate.

    h) For admission to Pharma-D : Candidates should have passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistryand Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or passed in Diploma in Pharmacy examination from an

    Institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

    Merit will be determined on the basis of performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biologysubjects or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects i.e, PCB or PCM marks whichever is highest inthe Common Entrance Test 2014. Common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission toPharma-D.

    Candidates who have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course seeking admission to Pharma-D should compulsorily before 20.05.2014. Failing which Rank will not be assigned to the candidate.

    i) 2nd Year B-Pharma (Lateral Entry) : Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy examination from an Institution approvedby the Pharmacy Council of India undersection 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45 % marks

    for General Merit ( 40% for SC/ST , Category-1 and OBC)

    Merit will be determined on the basis of performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biologysubjects or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects i.e, PCB or PCM marks whichever is highest inthe Common Entrance Test 2014. Common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to2nd Year B-Pharma (Lateral Entry).

    Candidates who have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course seeking admission to 2nd year B-Pharma CET number boldly written to KEA on or before 20.05.2014. Failing which Rank will not be assigned to thecandidate.

    j) For Engineering / Technology courses:A candidate who has passed the Q. E. with Physics and Mathematicsas compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science asoptional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45%marks in the optional subjects in the Q. E. is eligible for Engineering / Technology courses. 40% of marks inQ. E. in case of SC, ST, Category-I and OBC Category candidates. Provided that, the marks obtained by the

    candidate in Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science in the Q. E., will be considered inplace of Chemistry, in case the marks obtained in Chemistry is less for required aggregate percentage, only forthe purpose of determination of eligibility and not for the purpose of determination of rank, in respect ofEngineering / Technology courses.

    Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in both CommonEntrance Test and the Qualifying Examination by taking the marks in equal proportions, the Engineering rank listwill be prepared and published.

    k) For Architecture course :A candidate who has passed the Q. E. with Mathematics as one of the optional subjectsand secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in all subjects in Q. E is eligible for admission to Architecturecourse. 45% of marks in the case of SC, ST, Category-I, OBC candidates, and person with disability of mentalretardation or mental illness (including dyslexia).

    Provided that, a candidate should also appear and secure a minimum of 40% marks in NATA (including SC,

    ST, Category-I and OBC category candidates as per THE COUNCIL OF ARCHITECTURE IN ITS LETTER

    NO. CA/ 5/ACADEMIC-NATA/DATED 20-03-2008) conducted by the Council of Architecture. The last date to

    appear for NATA is 20-05-2014. The candidates should submit the photocopy of the NATA SCORE CARD along

    with 12th std. marks card by mentioning the CET number on or before 20-05-2014 to KEA either in person or

    through Speed Post.

    Based on the performance of the candidates in both Qualifying Examination and NATA, by taking the marks in

    equal proportions the Architecture rank list will be prepared and published.

    NOTE :Candidates who do not pass in all the subjects in the qualifying examination and candidates who do not

    possess the academic eligibility detailed above for various professional courses, will not be eligible to be considered

    for allotment of seats in the respective courses.

    A candidate who passes in all the subjects in the qualifying examination and later withdraws one or more subject

    for reappearing in the qualifying examination for bettering his performance will also not be considered for

    allotment of seats in the regular round and will be treated as a supplementary candidate.

    WHAT IS NATA?

    National Aptitude Test in Architecture or NATA is an All India level entrance examination conducted by the Council of

    The Architecture seats in Government, Aided and Un-aided institutions of the State are offered ONLY to the candidates whohave appeared for NATA and who have obtained the prescribed minimum marks in both Qualifying Examination and NATA.

    Therefore, all the candidates who want to be considered for allotment of Architecture seats, should compulsorily appear for

    NATA, and should obtain a minimum of 40% marks including SC, ST, Category-I and OBC category candidates in NATA

    (In other words one has to secure a minimum of 80 MARKS OUT OF 200). Visit website for LIST OF INSTITUTIONS

    CONDUCTING NATA (NATIONAL APTITUDE TEST IN ARCHITECTURE) IN KARNATAKA. The interested candidates

    can appear for the NATA, any day before 20-05-2014. Such candidates should obtain and submit their NATA scores along with

    the copy of the 2nd PU / 12 Std. Marks Card (by boldly writing their CET Number on the NATA score card) to the KEA either

    in person or only through Speed Post on or before 22-05-2014.

    The SC / ST/Category-I / OBC eligibility criteria is applicable to persons of Karnataka origin who are claiming

    eligibility for Government seats under clauses (a), (b), (f), (h), (j), (k) (l) and (o) and the same is not applicable to

    clauses (c), (d), (e), (g), (i), (m) and (n) of Item - 6 of Chapter I. Not only a candidate who has passed the qualifying examination with requisite marks but also a candidate who is

    appearing for the Q.E. and expecting the results is eligible to apply for the Common Entrance Test 2014.

    Students appearing for Karnataka 2nd PUC Annual 2014 need not submit their Q. E. marks card to the KEA, as it

    will be obtained directly from the Department of PUE. However, all other students who have passed 12th standard

    examination such as CBSE, CISCE, 10+2, from other boards (including J & K) before 2014 and who are appearing

    for 2014 annual exam must COMPULSORILY send a photocopy of their 12th standard marks card by mentioning

    their CET Number to KEA. Repeater students of Karnataka 2nd PU also should submit their photocopy of the

    marks card on or before 20-05-2014. Otherwise, the results of such candidates will be withheld for want of Q. E.

    Marks. Intermediary ranks / Spot ranks will be assigned in respect of with-held candidates only after submission of

    photocopy of the Q. E. marks card. Seebox at Page 40 aboutintermediary ranks / Spot ranks / ranks ending with

    After the publication of the CET - 2014 results, the candidates whose Q.E. marks are changed due to revaluation /

    retotalling, should immediately produce the revised marks card / statement of marks obtained from the Department

    of PUE/ Other boards in person only, to the KEA for getting the new ranks, if any.

    NOTE:

    1. The candidates are requested to verify their qualifying examination marks printed on the result sheets without fail,

    if there is any discrepancy with reference to qualifying examination marks the same should be brought to the notice

    2. The moment a new rank is assigned to candidates due to variation in Q. E. marks (whether increase or decrease),

    the previous rank of such candidates will stand cancelled and the candidates will not have any claim either on the

    previous rank or on the seat selected on the basis of previous rank, if any. Such candidates should select seats only

    AGRICULTURE / HORTICULTURE / VETERINARY / FARM UNIVERSITIES

    Under Graduate Degree Programmes in Farm Universities includesAgriculture, Horticulture and Veterinary, Animal

    the country, in general, and state, in particular. Teaching activities are carried out through 6 Universities under their

    constituent colleges. Undergraduate (UG) degree programmes are offered in different disciplines under semester system.

    Duration :

    The minimum duration of all UG degree programmes is 4 academic years (8 semesters) except B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree

    programme offered in Karnataka Veterinary & Fisheries Sciences, University Bidar, for which the minimum duration is

    5 years (10 semesters).

    RESERVATION OF SEATS

    Admission to the Farm Universities is made subject to reservation of seats for:

    I Agriculturists or children of Agriculturists (23.8% Shall be revived based on the anticipated Govt Order):

    For example: If the candidates have studied their 2nd PUC / 12th standard in Mysore or any place in the Mysore

    district, then they have to write CET only in MYSORE. If they have studied in Bellary Dist, then they can write

    CET either in HOSPET or in BELLARY.

    The Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates claiming eligibility under clauses c and d of

    Item 6 of Chapter I respectively, will have to undergo a Kannada language test, which will be held on

    03-05-2014 from 11.30 am to 12.30 pmsimultaneously for both Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates

    in Bangalore. Therefore, the Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates will have to appear for the

    CET2014 in an examination centre located at BANGALORE only. The minimum passing marks for all

    Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates shall be 12 out of 50 marks in Kannada Language Test

    conducted by KEA in order to be considered for assignment of ranks and to become eligible for allotment of

    The candidate should have studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognised

    educational institutions located in the State of Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN academic years

    commencing from 1st standard to 2nd PUC / 12th standard as on 1st July of the year in which the Entrance

    Test is held and must have appeared and passed either SSLC / 10th standard or 2nd PUC / 12th standardexamination from Karnataka State. In case of the candidate who had taken more than one year to pass a

    class or standard, the years of academic study is counted as one year only.

    of SEVEN YEARS between 1st and 12th standards in disputed Kannada speaking area of South Sholapur

    or Akkalkot or Jath or Gadhinglaj Taluks of Maharashtra State or Kasargod or Hosadurga Taluks of Kerala

    State. Provided that the candidate shall undergo a Kannada Language test conducted by KEA.
