As part of its year of 50th anniversary celebrations, Southern and CentralCalifornia’s independent public television station KCET will host a freefamily screening of its animated preschool series Space Racers at theSkirball Cultural Center on Saturday, January 31. The event will offer fourscreening times, beginning at 1 p.m., as well as fun activities andgiveaways.

Additionally, series director Mark Risley, writer David H. Steinberg and voiceactors Yuri Lowenthal (Eagle), Alicyn Packard (Robyn) and Meye deLeeuw

(Hawk) will be on hand to discuss their roles and answer questions from young fans. The event will bepart of Southern California’s “Museums Free-for-All” day which includes more than 20 museumsoffering free admission to the public.

Space Racers, produced in collaboration with NASA experts, follows young spaceship cadets at theStardust Space Academy as they travel through the solar system. Young viewers learn about the powerof scientific investigation and observation, the wonders of space exploration and the importance ofworking together a as a team.
