A BRIDGE IS A FITTING METAPHOR FOR KEDRION BIOPHARMA
because bridges connect people and places. We are in the business of
building bridges and creating connections between donors and patients,
from raw plasma to innovative treatments, and to the communities we
serve and where we work.
Standing on a bridge, we look back to where we started as well as forward
to our hopes and ambitions. Kedrion Biopharma’s roots were cultivated in
the foothills of the Apuan Alps in Tuscany over half a century ago, where
the Marcucci family built several local pharmaceutical businesses. In
2001, after decades of exposure to the plasma market, these ventures
came together to form the basis of Kedrion Biopharma.
But that was just laying the foundation. Kedrion Biopharma soon became
the primary partner to the Italian National Blood System and our
operations were expanded into Germany and Hungary. In 2011, we
crossed the ocean to extend our offerings to those in the United States.
Today, Kedrion Biopharma’s products are distributed worldwide in over
100 countries.

KEDRION BIOPHARMA ENTERED THE US MARKET IN 2011 after over half a century of experience in the pharmaceutical business in Italy and Europe. We started with the acquisition of several key products that became the foundation of our US offerings, as well as the acquisition of a plasma fractionation facility in Melville, NY. We have since grown our product portfolio to include several plasma-derived therapies used to treat or prevent serious and rare disorders and conditions, and have made significant investments in our US infrastructure to help ensure we can continue to offer our products and services to the people who count on us.

Plasma is the raw material from which all of our activities flow. We are proud to work with the generous donors at KEDPLASMA who give in order to help others.
PRODUCTION
At our plants in the US, Hungary and Italy, the final products are produced and packaged under strict regulations. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities continue to meet or exceed the highest US and international standards for health and safety.
FRACTIONATION
Through our fractionation facilities inthe US, Hungary and Italy, we are able to isolate and separate the plasma components that become the basis for our therapies.
MARKETING Product knowledge is critical for informed decision-making by both patients and healthcare professionals. Marketing plays an essential role in raising awareness and ensuring proper use of our products.
DISTRIBUTION
Individual packaging, packing and shipping of plasma-derived products require strict control and monitored environmental conditions. We demand and provide extensive training for these procedures to ensure the proper handling and delivery of our products.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
At all points along the path from donor to recipient, our R&D team is at work in a constant effort to improve existing products as well as investigate new therapy options for rare and orphan conditions.
OPTIMIZING PRODUCTION
KEDPLASMA, A SUBSIDIARY OF KEDRION BIOPHARMA, specializes in the collection and procurement of high-quality plasma that is processed into plasma-based therapies. As of 2018, KEDPLASMA operates nearly 20 collection centers in the US with plans to expand to 30 centers by 2020, and is one of the world’s leading suppliers of high-titer anti-rabies and anti-D plasma.
