“MY SCHOOL IS THE SCHOOL OF MY DREAMS BECAUSE...”

School is the temple of learning. The teaching and preaching begins in school. My school is the best school that I have ever studied. I am bestowed withunderstanding friends, able teachers and lovely atmosphere.

My school is Kendriya Vidyalaya situated in the Western Ghats region that isin Shivamogga district. My school is on the hill top having serene elevationsurrounded by green cover of paddy field. The lovely cool breeze, the diverse floraand fauna around the school gives me an exciting experience every day and everyminute.

There is no fear in any student’s mind because teachers teach with interest andpractical experiments. Students are exposed to various situations and preparedto face any problems. Teachers treat students as friends and teach friendly. Sostudents are comfortable and clear all doubts from teachers. Each student is taken care with equal importance. No differentiation is madebased on caste, creed, religion, colour etc. more importance is shown on studentswith less grasping capacity and with involvement in the classrooms. Teachersanalyze, understand and guide students accordingly. Projects and assignmentsare based on the strength and weakness of the individual student.

My school has friendly atmosphere, lovely and caring teachers and ablePrincipal which makes all students to feel safe, secure and caring. Students arenot punished instead encouraged and motivated to understand and do things attheir own interest. Mistakes are pardoned and preached not to repeat.

Students do not fear examinations. Since every students is assessed based ontheir overall personality and involvement. Each is judged on academics, sports, cultural, co-curricular activities and leadership qualities. The school hasexclusive expert teachers for music, sports, work experience, and co-curricularactivities. National game like hockey is given more importance, the result ofwhich six girl students from KV Shivamogga represented the National Meet2014-15. Each student is encouraged to pursue their interest and not forced uponto take up by pressure. Hence no student is scared about the future. Since skilldevelopment and personality development begin from the school days.

Unity in diversity is the mantra of our school. Wards of employees from allwalks of life and different professions like defence, railway, banking, education, and health study in same class. Friendship is made with all students. Students

co-operate, co-ordinate, co-exist with each other. As the students are divided into4 groups or houses to participate and play for the group. So every student hasequal opportunities to participate in every activity held in the school.

Conservation of Environment is given importance at the school. Students areinvolved inVanamahotsava, planting and labeling of plants. Rallies areheld tospread awareness among people about plantations of saplings, deforestation, global warming, greenhouse effect etc .Birds attracting plants, fruit yieldingtrees, ornamental and herbal plants are planted and maintained in the schoolcampus.

Our school teaches us to respect our elders whether it may be our parents, teachers, grandparents, our seniors or any people elder to us. It also teaches thevalue ofself-respect and improves self-image. All the sections of the school arelabeled, partitioned and maintained well. Drinking water facilities are providedwith hygienic, good sanitation and cleanliness is maintained in the campus.Discipline and obedience are taught from early classes so that all values imbibedare followed on daily basis.

So Iam sure all of you would agree that my school is the best of all schoolhaving conducive environment, friendly teachers, lovely friends, able PrincipalMy school is the best school.

MY INDIA“JANANI JANMABHUMISCHA SWARGADAPI GARIYASI”

The above lines are India’s reputed thought, taken from Hindu epicRamayana. It means that mother and motherland are incomparable to anything. They are nobler than paradise.

Speaking of my motherland, India, I am proud to say that I belong to thisland. India is one of the ancient civilizations and at present, is the seventhlargest country in the world. Ecologically India is very rich in its naturalresources and biodiversity, culturally; India is a hub of traditions and practicewhich reflects the nuances of humanity. Historically, India is glorified by itsmemorable great rulers and emperors. But sad to say, these enrichments are ofno use today. Today, the picture of corruption, anti-social activities, poverty, hunger comes in the mind of people when the Frame of India is taken.

Just turn the pages of history of India. Could you believe that the presentland, on which you are living, is the same land which was defined as the land ofmerits? Probably you cannot just connect the current Indian situation with itspast. There was a time, when a great ruler called Ashoka who had the desire toconquer entire India, gave up warfare after seeing the bloodshed in thebattlefield. But today, there are people who fight cold poisonous war even withtheir family and neighbours. There was a time during the reign of emperorSrikrishnadevaraya of Tuluka dynasty when his common countrymen wereselling pearls and other valuable gems on the street for daily commodities. Andtoday, lakhs of people are dying due to hunger and poverty. There was a timeduring Emperor Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar’s reign, when people of differentreligions intermarried and treated each other as their own. But today we arefighting over casteism. Coming to modern Indian history when Britisherscolonized India, many freedom fighters like Rani Lakshmi Bai, Tantya Tope,Nan Sahib, Kunwar Singh sacrificed their lives for India.

Many Nationalists made the sky and earth one to make India Independent. The proud son of India, Swami Vivekananda created such an environment in thewhole world which made everyone admire India. You will get innumerable suchgreat characters who acted as the true representatives of India.

But why had India or Indians, as it should be called, so changed with itsrising population. India is lagging behind in economy in the world. Thedevelopment that India should have achieved by now, is not achieved.

Page 9: KENDRIYA VIDYALAY a - · PDF fileduring Emperor Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar’s reign, ... Dr.APJ ABDUL KALAM Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen “APJ” Abdul Kalam (15 oct 1931 – 27 July

Corruption is ruining India while poverty is killing Indians. Untidiness, uncleanliness, illiteracy, unemployment, many such serious challenges areincreasing day by day. While richer are becoming rich, the poorer are becomingpoor while the healthier are becoming healthier, unhealthier are remaining thesame.

At some point or other, I think even we are responsible for it. If each Indianthinks that India is my country, his home, his people then India will changeherself in an astonishing way. If the seed of patriotism is sown in the heart ofeach Indian, if the lamp of National integrity is lighted in the mind of every man, then the tears of mother India will be wiped out. Everyone should contribute hismight to our motherland selflessly. Everyone should involve in the progress, failure, happiness, sadness of India. Then India can once again wear her crownand raise her head proudly in the world like a lion in the jungle. As an Indian, Ishall try to do so. As an Indian, you must help the tricolor flutter high andremember the words of Iqbal.

“Saare jahaan se achchaHindustan hamaaraHum bulbulain hai iskeewoh gulsitaan hamaara”.

PRECEPTOR

Ice melts to conquer more places when it bathes in the ray of sunlight.A disciple can expand his personality when he falls into the deep well ofprinciples of true Preceptor. Clouds are made of water droplets and waterdroplets come from clouds. If you are a person of character, your character ismade from another character and that character is your Preceptor.

A still stone becomes a statue when it feels chills from a hard beat of axe inpain. An unshaped mind will become shaped when it receives guidance. WorshipRAM, CHRIST OR RAHIM; you may be SHYAM, SAM OR SALIM. Opinion ofeither or many varies, but the intention of each is the same.A sculptor needs Preceptor, from a stone to very human, everyone has Preceptorand everyone is Preceptor, remember that for one or the other you are aPreceptor, if not now, surely shall be in future.

AMBITION AND THE WAYS TO ACHIEVE IT!!!

Each and every person should have ambition in life. My ambition is to becomethe greatest businesswoman. There are two reasons for me choosing this field..It is my desire to become a great businesswo man and second is that it is the bestway to help others by providing employment as well as to provide goods that Iproduce to the common public which I feel will be useful. Ambition doesn’t meanto only imagine what we want to become but strive hard to achieve it by hook orby crook but it means only in the right path. The rules are: work hard, kindhearted, focusing capacity, creative mind, seriousness and determination. Thusthere are many ways to achieve our goal. Strong will power and determinationwill help us achieve our goal. The main key is hard work and therefore the elderssay HARD WORK IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS.

NEPAL EARTHQUAKE

A powerful earthquake shook Nepal on April 25,2015 on Saturday near itscapital, Katmandu, killing more than 1,900 people ,flattening sections of thecity’s historic center, and trapping dozens of sightseers in a 200-foot watchtowerthat came crashing down into a pile of bricks. As officials in Nepal faced the devastation on Sunday morning, they said thatmost of the 1,931 deaths occurred in Katmandu and the surrounding valley, andthat more than 4,700 people had been injured but the quake touched a vastexpanse of the subcontinent. It set off avalanches around MOUNT EVEREST,where at least 17 climbers died. At least 34 deaths occurred in northern India.Buildings swayed in Tibet and Bangladesh. The earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 struck shortly before noon and residentsof Katmandu ran into the streets and other spaces as buildings fell, throwing upclouds of dust. Wide cracks opened on paved streets and in the walls of citybuildings. Motorcycles tipped over and slid off the edge of a highway.By midafternoon, the United States geological survey had counted 12aftershocks, one of which measured 6.6. Seismologists have expected a majorearthquake in western Nepal, where there is pent-up pressure from grinding ofthe Indian tectonic plates as it is forced underneath the Eurasian plate to thenorth. Still, witnesses described a chaotic rescue effort during the first hoursafter the quake as emergency workers and volunteers grabbed tools andbulldozers from construction sites, and dug with hacksaws, mangled reinforcingbars and their hands .So, this was the greatest tragedy of Nepal earthquake.

PARENTS ARE TRUE GODS!!!!

Parents are truly the living Gods, visible to our eyes. They put all their soul, heart and life to satisfy their children’s needs. They are really awesome. I cansay this because I have godly parents. There are no words to describe them.Almost all the parents in the world love their children a lot. But there are somechildren, especially sons, who carelessly treat their parents after they reachsome stage with the support of only their parents, but they treat them verybadly. They will not keep them in their houses and send them to old age homes. This is not fair, if they do not treat them as God. Let them treat them atleast ashumans who gave birth to them and nurtured them. But parents are parents. They never shirk from their responsibility to take care of their children. So I sayparents are: awesome, special, adorable. The great, marvelous, splendid, best, superb, cool! Outstanding, TRUE GODS. so….. I salute the true parents

DREAM

The real success is to learn from our mistakes. We have come across manydifficulties throughout our life. If we just look at the negative side withpessimistic attitude, Iam sure that we would never know what happiness is. “Ifyou can dream it, you can become it”. “If you can imagine it, you can achieve it”..Everyone has dreams and desires. I myself have desire to become a person wholives for people who are in need. The importance of having dream is vital to life.Every person should dream and work towards achieving it. The definition of adream is – an inspiration – an aim –so I have a dream to become a doctorbecause my desire is to help the needy. Iam working hard to fulfill my dream.

SWACCH VIDYALAYA ABHIYANI was reading newspaper, when a headline grabbed my attention.“STUDENTS ENGAGED IN SWACCH VIDYALAYA ABHIYAN”. I

remembered that we too had this campaign in our school a few days before.Speaking of this campaign, we are proud to tell that our schools are headingtowards achieving an ambition of making India a superpower country in theworld. The aim of the campaign is to promote cleanliness and hygiene amongtoday’s youngsters. Today, cleanliness is of prime importance for oursurroundings, to develop healthy INDIA.Many poor regions of our country do nothave sanitation facilities. Schools are no exception to this.Swacch VidyalayaAbhiyan is an integral part of newly launched campaign Swacch BharathAbhiyan by the Prime Minister Shri. NARENDRA MODI.This campaigncreated waves across the country whose echoes were heard even muchlater .Most of the schools in thecountry joined hands to promote thecampaign.Crores of rupees were spent in the construction of toilets in schools. Many repair works too were taken up to keep the surroundings spic and span.Students participated in the campaign by taking up cleanliness work in theirlocality. Various clubs took the responsibility of cleaning the official buildings. Many advertisement companies sponsored the ads related to these socialconcepts. Functions and speeches about importance of hygiene and the problemsif we neglect cleanliness were given to create awareness among the citizens.

Finally, a new hope has risen among students and elders who dreamt to see theirschools clean and tidy. This campaign should be widened in all dimensions toincrease the ultimate benefits.

IMPORTANCE OF TREES

Trees are essential for our life. There are a lot of benefits of growing trees. Someof the most important ones are:

They provide us oxygen; they absorb carbon-di-oxide and release oxygen inatmosphere which purifies the air giving fresh oxygen to us. They also give usfruits, vegetables, flowers and shade. We use each part of the trees in manyways. They play an important role in providing rainfall. They provide us woodfor making our houses and furniture. Many trees provide us medicinal productstoo. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

Knowledge is something that remains and serves us all through our life.

Wealth and minerals have no lasting value. They can be stored and be destroyed.Knowledge cannot be taken away by anyone. Knowledge is gained throughbooks, experience, interaction and observation. Knowledge and power is closelyrelated. Those who have knowledge will gain power to lead others. They caneasily conquer the hearts of people. In short, a man of knowledge can easily winthe minds and hearts of people.

GEARING UP FOR THE BOARDS

Choose the time that you think is best to study, stick to that routine. Distractions will be there. Do not allow them to interfere with your studies. Make sure your study is devoid of unnecessary articles that could distract

you. Work on your strength and weakness. Do not ignore either. Do not hesitate to ask your teacher for help or guidance. Maintain a healthy diet as well as enjoy a regular quarter of sleep.

Starving yourself of either will only sap your productivity.

Let not to suffuse the belief of dark.Let it light the light of spark.Let not to shrivel and die their sacrifice and fight.Let it remove from you your enmity sight.Let not your adventure is idle what you prefer.Let know your intention of prefer and so refer.Let’s not play a play between two on ray,Let’s play a play to make them happy and gay,Let your muscles work like muscles forever,Let not it ask why the muscles should work like muscles.Let make sure that you are walking on the path of sunshine,Let not your path is away from the true shine.Let the truth win over untruth with true and untrue evidence.Let not the untruth win over truth with even true evidence.Let’s think of a thought, which can be taught to othersLet your thought make them think why? India my country, my pride, beautiful and bountiful……

At its head the Himalayan soar,And its foot the oceans roar. With water cool and cleanFlowing rivers and streams glean..

Juicy fruits that trees yield,Ripened crop in the field.

Peace and joy it gives,To every man who here lives.

Languages we speak of many kinds,Variety in dress you will find.Moving forward as one,For its glory, work, daughter and son…….

CHILD LABOUR

Child labour is very common in India especially in industries like glass factories, carpetfactories, match box factories etc. In glass factories, one can see childrensitting in cells in front of furnaces and working day & night. They are not paidwell and due to darkness and heat they loose their eyesight at a very young age. They are so preoccupied with their work that they forget everything else. Thesehazardous conditions make them prone to diseases. They fall ill frequently andmany a times they even become prey to fatal diseases like asthma, tuberculosisand due to poverty. These children don’t get proper treatment. At the age ofplaying and studying these children become the earning members of theirfamilies. Child labour should be banned and stringent action taken against thepeople who promote child labour.

NATIONAL INTEGRATION

India is a country with a diverse culture. There are over 350 different languageswith each region having its own special food and dress habits. Besides, manydifferent religions are practiced in India. Customs, festivals and culture differsfrom state to state. Yet there is unity in this diversity. Till a generation ago, people usually were very rigid when it came to changing their ways of living, custom or religion although as a nation we have been trying to foster a spirit ofnational integration; the process has been rather slow. People did not believe ininter-caste marriages and were unwilling to accept other people’s customs astheir own. The modern generation, however is quite different. Today’s youth arevibrant, flexible and modern in the true sense of the term. Modern, because theyhave been able to overcome the narrow differences of caste and creed that dividepeople. Religion and community are of lesser concern to them in contrast to theideas of their parents and grandparents. Fifty years of modern education hasfinally borne fruit. They feel they are Indians first and take pride in being anIndian than being a Sikh or a Hindu. Several factors have contributed to thischange in outlook.India is today a prominent nation. It has made a place for itself in theinternational arena by its policies of religious tolerance, non-alignment andprudent foreign ties and co-operation. Indians have excelled in various fields oflearning and have won acclaim; Indian women have proved that they havebeauty and brains, in the beauty pageants. We have not lagged behind in sportseither. All this progress has filled the hearts of the young Indian generation withpride and has helped to overcome the narrow boundaries of caste and creed.

CANDLE

What is the first thing you do when the lights go out? Look for candles, of course. When a candle is lit, the wax melts and the liquid wax is drawn up the fibers ofthe wick and burnt. Over the years, man has used wax from different sources tomanufacture candles. Paraffin wax is most commonly used in candles. Theearliest source of wax was animal fat. Spermaceti, obtained from the enormoushead of the sperm whale, was used to make candles. Bees wax is also used tomake candles. The bees produce it whenever they need to build theirhoneycombs. The Romans used lamps made of bronze or pottery and filled themwith vegetable oil. In Britain, hundreds of years ago, candles were used atauctions. Candles play an important role in worship in churches. They are usedfor decorative purposes in home and also in birthday parties. So, candles are alsoimportant for us.

GOOD MANNERS

Good manners or civility keeps the machine of life running smoothly, littlecourtesies like ‘Please’ and ‘Thank you’ can make a lot of difference in one’s dailydealing with people, sadly enough, insolence and rudeness has become the orderof the day. Good manners have been blown away, abandoned and forgotten byyoung people. “Please”, “Sorry”, “May I” or “Thank you” are work which aregradually losing relevance in today’s world.

Yet a person who is well mannered, gentle and courteous is always singled out, loved and respected by both students’ and teachers. Everybody likes pleasantbehavior. It is easy to be friendly with such a person. It is a pleasure to be in hiscompany because we know that he will not be rude or laugh at what we say.

Words like “Thank you” or “Please” are not mere trifles to be overlooked. Theymake our daily life congenial and smooth. A request is better than a demand anda sincere apology after a mistake helps to foster good human relations.

Words like thank you or please are not mere trifles to be overlooked. They makeour daily life congenial and smooth. Nobody likes a rude teacher, it is importantfor a teacher to be polite with her students if she wants them to learn goodmanners. Good manners reflect in our personality and abide throughout our life.

WHAT IS TIME?

When we hear the word “time” we at once think of the ways in which it can bemeasured. We think of watches or clocks, hours and days. However, the facts arethat just as we can measure the length or width of an object, time is also a formof measurement. It allows us to measure the order in which events happenedfrom the past to the present, and also the order in which they will happen in thefuture. We also use it to measure the speed at which things move. Time issometimes called the fourth dimension, the other three being length, breadthand height.

Duties and responsibilities of students

It is estimated that nearly 15% of the total population of India consists ofstudents. The students, therefore, constitute a great potential force capable ofleading a nation to great heights of progress or abyss of decadence. The future ofevery nation depends on their students. The primary duty of a student is to learnand acquire knowledge. They should aim at improving their intellect andwidening their mental capabilities. Unfortunately many students forget this goaland spend their school days uselessly enjoying and idling away their time. Onlylater they realize the result of their folly. But then it is too late. School is theplatform where in students learn the good traits of life such as, discipline, obedience, diligence, respect to elders, honesty, patriotism etc. School providesnumerous opportunities for the development of these qualities. It is the duty ofevery students to acquire there fine qualities of life which will enable him / her tostand in good stead in the future.

ICT IN SCHOOLS

Information and communication technology (ICT) is a diverse set oftechnological toolsand resources used to communicate and to create, disseminate, store and manage information.

Why do we need ICT in schools? Was education not happening before computerscame into existence? Why is this paradigm shift necessary? The shift is necessary because this is the age of information and technology, anage that requires that teachers facilitate the gathering of this information andnot merely teach. The use of ICT is changing teaching in several ways. With ICT,teachers are able to create their own material and thus have more control overthe material used in the classroom than they have had in the past. It seems thattechnology is requiring teachers to be more creative in customizing their ownmaterial. It is evident that involving students in the creation of useful materialas a part of a learning exercise is a way to make school more meaningful forstudents. The use of peripheral devices on computers to help with scienceexperiments again shows how ICT can be used to aid the learning process andhelp students focus on higher level concepts.ICT has the potential to be used asa supportive educational tool enabling students learn by doing. ICT can make itpossible for teachers to engage students in self-paced, self-directed problem-based orconstructivist learning experiences and also test student learning innew, interactive, and engaging ways that may better assess their understandingof the content. Students also have ideas of their own and knowledge that theygather from daily life; this knowledge and ideas can be utilized in a big wayusing ICT. Teaching with ICT makes the learning process real, achievable, challenging, yet exciting. Computer is used not only to make the content lookattractive. In 21st century, information is not a difficult access, insteadorganizing, sharing, and collaborating becomes essential. Hence, ICT is notmerely to portray information but to interact, share, and thus learn. It providesmeaningful, absorbing media that makes teaching-learning more productive.

ICT changes the role of the teacher from disseminator of information to learningfacilitator, helping students as they actively engage with information andmaterials to construct their own understandings. That is, students learn how tolearn, not just what to learn.

Healthy practice of students

Thousand miles of journey will start with a single step.

Rung of ladder is not there to sit upon it and take rest; it is there to climbgreater heights. The student should be motivated to climb the rung of ladder andreach the top. Something which is required for the nation first and for most practice,it’s the attitude not the talent which changes. The first which is required for astudent is passion. It is not important how many times you fail but it isimportant how you manage the failure. The second healthy practice of a studentbelieves in one’s own ability you cannot be a successful human being withoutbelieving in you that’s what is called as confidence. Our India needs a confidentmind at the same time we need the student with self confidence that only makesone successful in life. Third healthy practice of a student is having a healthy lifestyle, early to bed and early to rise. Whenever you get up practice yoga orDhyana, you invest so much of time watching or chatting or playing video gamesetc… and waste ‘so much of time but we do not have time to practice yoga orDhyana for 5 minutes which is most important and will keep the student calm.

LIFE: WHAT IS LIFE ALL ABOUT?

Life is beautiful but not always easy. It has problems to face. The challenge liesin facing them with courage, letting the beauty of life act like a balm, whichmakes the pain bearable, during trying times, providing hope.

Happiness and sorrow, victory and defeat day and night are like the two sides ofthe same coin; similarly life is full of moments of joy, pleasure, feat failures andproblems. There is no human being on earth, strong or powerful who has notexperienced, struggle, suffering or failure.

Life is very beautiful and every moment helps in the realisation of being alive. But one should be always ready to face adversity and challenges. A person whohas not encountered difficulties in life can never achieve success.

GREEN CAMPUS

In the modern world education is an integral part of all human beings. Eachperson has sweet memories of his/her schooling, learning and childhood. Schoolis a place of national integrity with no caste, creed, region poor/rich, color etc.The environment in the school should be serene and conducive for learning.

In the recent days due to modernization and globalization green environmenthas become very rare. Hence everyone has emphasized the need foraforestration. School is a perfect place to plant trees and maintain greenery;however the resources may be shortfall to maintain the whole campus. Theconcept of donating a plant by each student on his birthday is a novel conceptintroduced in our school by our Principal. By this interest is created among thestudents to know about plant, to nourish the plant, to maintain the plant, to ownthe plant and privilege to own the plant.

By this concept plant diversity will be maintained in the school. This also helpsto learn about the scientific name, the common name, uses, part uses etc.

Hence this novel concept may be adopted in all schools and there by achievegreen campus along with green knowledge and clean environment.

THE ROLE OF LANGUAGE LAB IN LEARNING ENGLISH

I Mr. Ahmed TGT (English) would like to drag your attention towards my smallreport on role of language lab. Let me begin from the beginning when I joined asTGT English (contractual) teacher there were no separate Language lab andother facilities, but very soon our Principal Shri. E JAYACHANDRAN sirpointed out this and allotted me the language lab, it’s a great exposure for me todevelop myself and to think of children’s progress in their listening, speakingand writing skills. Principal Sir, Exam I/C Shri. S.R BHAT sir and followed byour new principal Dr. (Smt). RUBINA madam gave great support and undertheir guidance plenty of activities I had conducted and most of the children arebenefited and improved in their LSW skills.

We can, however, describe what language is, language is a medium ofcommunication. Communication implies carrying of message or receiving ofmessage. The importance of English is not because of its more users but what itis used for. In the present century English has gained a position. It is commonlyused in many fields. English language makes the people to know what ishappening around the world.

The language lab offers an exclusive result oriented and efficient to enrich theEnglish language learning process. The multimedia based language lab helps tolearn and enhance the language proficiency by sharing the course materials within a second where the teacher and the students involved effortlessly.

I know our school is too young, that cannot offer language laboratory because itrepresents the single largest investment and installment of audio resources ineducation. But my school has provided enough materials to improve ourselveswith what we have; I hope in future it would set up language laboratory. Withthe help of available instruments students are learning. I have been conductingconversations tasks, interview tasks, talk show, speeches, poem recitation, debate and other oral activities to come across over their inferiority andhesitation of speaking English language. Listening skill is improving by hearingrecordings with worksheets as its record.

4. Damper the idea: The Lab regulates the language through the differentthoughts created in the mind of the students.

5. Effective learning: The lab provides to learn the foreign language practicein a focused setting that eliminates the feelings of self-consciousness.

6. Focus Veracity: By using text, audio and video can easily be integratedwith actuality in everyday situations.

7. Guide the group: It is easy to guide the groups by monitoring each studentindependently without disturbing the others students.

8. Have the self-evaluation: the students can do a periodical self-evaluation tomeasure the progress as well as evaluate his/her language with that of theexpert.

9. Independent learning: access to resources beyond the timetable encouragesindependent learning.

10. Janitor for learners: It care takes the learners to become skilled at thelanguage that they are learning.

11. Kaput the fear: The automated learning environment removes one’s fearand creates a happy learning situation. Learn the need: The lab fulfills theneed of the learner that is learning the language skills in an effective way.

12. Medium of interactivity: The students can record their own voice and playback the recordings, interact with the each other and the teacher, and storethe results.

“OUR SCHOOL LIBRARY”

Similarly, the school understands the importance of books, reading materials, newspapers, magazines and journals. For this purpose we have a wellmaintained library. A library is a place provided to students for reading foreducative as well as leisurely purposes. Books of all kinds are kept heresystematically. Recorded properly and maintained nicely. A library thus is thesoul of academic affluence of a school. It reflects upon the seriousness anddedication of the school towards the goal of education.

Our school library is very well maintained. It is huge, well lit and airy. One cansit and read easily even whenthe lights go off. The library is situated in a firstfloor as to ensure quiet and peaceful environs. At the entrance we have a noticeboard which displays information about the timings of the library timings toissue and return books etc. On the walls are posters and charts depicting theimportance and essence of the reading? The catalogue of books arrangedalphabetically is kept on the side. A notice regarding maintaining silence isplaced authoritatively there. The room also has magazines, journals andnewspapers are kept like The Times of India, The Hindu, Kanada Prabha andRajasthan Prathika. Magazines like Down to earth, Children world, Wisdom,Magic pot, Competition success review etc. Next we have the library counterwhere we get issued and returned back our books. It is a good opportunity for usto read good books which otherwise one cannot buy.

Most importantly, however, libraries are the places where you can expect smartand clear answers to even most difficult questions.

INDIA: THE PRESENT SCENARIO

INDIA as we all know is an agricultural and a multicultural country. In the past few years

India has gone through several ups and downs. But still India is standing amongst all the

nations holding her head high up in the air. Let’s throw some light on the following aspects,

of the present situation of India.

1. INDUSTRY: Presently India is witnessing an IT boom which mainly relies on outsourcing

of jobs from first world countries of America and Europe. It also witnessed rise in the

hospital and healthcare industry, hotel industry, travel and tourism and aviation industry.

Privatisation of many industries played a key role. Some of the key private players of our

country are reliance, TATA, Infosys, Bharti Airtel with active foreign pareticipation of

telecom giants such as Vodafone, pharmaceuticals such as glaxo Smith, ceramics such as

Saint Gobian, electronics such a s Nokia, Apple, Intel etc. Share markets have recently seen

several up and downs as is IT industry due to recession and sat yam fiasco.

2. SERVICES: Services basically means public services such as banks, financial sectors and

other basic services. Several new hospitals with world class facilities have come up. SBI,

UBI, SEBI are the major players in banking industry. Indian postal departments and railway

have made a steady progress. These two sectors have really made us proud. But

unemployment and poor distribution of services and resources still remains a headache.

3. POLITICS: Presently BJP is ruling at the centre with active support from several small

parties. Congress still remains the active opposition. Elections have witnessed people

showing immense faith in change. Younger generations have joined politics.

4. The COMMON MAN: The common man still remains common. The sixth pay

commission has increased salaries. But farmer suicide, student suicide due to immense

pressure, petty politics, pollution etc.

WHAT IS EDUCATION?

Education is not just applying the knowledge obtained from studying books. It isnot mere getting certificates as proof that some knowledge has been obtained. Itis not about cramming facts and figures.

Education is what guarantees you a successful life and prepares you to take rightdecisions. It is the willingness to listen, to observe and comprehend withdiscipline. It is making mistakes and learning not to repeat them again. It is theability to develop an insight that will help you find the difference between rightand wrong and gives you the courage to stand for the right, always.

My dear students, education is being patient, honest and confident in facing allthe adversities that comes your way. You must understand that education is notabout being the most intelligent. It is about having a stable mind and a goldenheart. It imparts morality, ethics and a will to do good deeds. It is the happinessyou feel while sharing something with the one who needs it desperately. It can befound in the tears that come in eyes on seeing someone in pain. Education iseverywhere and you are getting it with every passing moment. My dear students, all you have to do is to keep your heart and your senses active.

The process of learning is very beautiful and I hope all of you will be the best ofstudents of the teacher called life. Man is not born with wings but educationhelps him to fly to the zenith.
