History of Kennedy • Community need for a place where seniors

could gather for recreation & socialization

• Corporation of Delta purchased the house in the early 70’s

• Early 80’s, Kennedy embarked on its first expansion (Funded by the North Delta Lions, Kennedy House Seniors

Society & the Kennedy Park Lawn Bowlers)


• Major expansion in 1990’s - Kennedy House Seniors Society raised $350,000 - Corporation of Delta contributed 1 million dollars

• In the year 2000 Kennedy expanded again - Millennium Grant & loan from the Corporation of Delta

- Added 15 feet across the back of the centre, which created more space in the café, computer room, & larger dressing rooms for theatre shows & other entertainment

How Do We Operate? The Corporation of Delta

in partnership with the Kennedy House Seniors

Society have been providing recreation & leisure services to the seniors of North Delta

for 40 years.


The Corporation of Delta provides the following support services:

1 Full Time Coordinator 1 Full Time Custodian

1 Auxiliary Recreation Programmer 2 Auxiliary Building Service Workers

How Do We Operate?


Kennedy House Seniors Society

Board of Directors are volunteers elected by the membership

2012-2013 Board of Directors


Other Ways the Centre is Utilized

• Delta Council holds 4 meetings per year

• Serves as a Reception Centre in the event of an emergency in our community

• When not in use by the seniors, the centre

is available for private rentals

Kennedy’s Customer Service Desk is run by volunteers!

Facility Monday, Wednesday & Thursday: 9am – 10pm

Tuesday, Friday & Saturday: 9am – 4pm
