Miss P - GChX Tashtins Lookin For Trouble.Photo courtesy of The Westminster Kennel Club

It is with immense pride that the Canadian Kennel Clubcongratulates our Canadian purebred dog winners at the 139thannual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and all the hard-working breeders, owners and handlers who contributed totheir success.

What an amazing moment it was when the regal Miss P—alsoknown as Peyton—a 15 inch Beagle, GChX Tashtins Lookin ForTrouble, took Best in Show and made history as the 6thCanadian-bred dog to win BIS at Westminster. Four-year-oldMiss P is the grandniece of Uno, the first beagle to ever win thebig show, in 2008. This is also a big win for the hound group asBeagles have been competing at Westminster since 1877.Following last night’s win, the affable Beagle, Miss P, will beretiring. A hearty congratulations goes out to Miss P’sbreeder/owner, Lori Crandlemire and co-owner KaitlynCrandlemire from Enderby, British Columbia, along withhandler, Will Alexander fromMilton, Ontario.

Miss P is not new to winning; she has 17 Canadian BISs and 99Group 1sts in Canada under her collar and was #3 Hound in2012 and #8 all breeds in 2013. In addition, Miss P has 20BISs–including this year’s BIS at Westminster and 91 Group 1stsin the U.S.

Amazingly, Miss P was one of three Canadian dogs to competefor Best in Show this year. Both breeder Linda Campbell’sStandard Poodle GCH. Dawin Hearts on Fire, winner of theNon-Sporting Group, and breeder/co-owner DonnaGottdenker’s Portuguese Water Dog GCH. ClaircreekImpression de Matisse, who took the Working Group, also madeit to the Final 7! We could not be more proud of theiroutstanding achievements.

CKC congratulates all of our Canadian winners at Westminster. For a complete list of winners please visit www.ckc.ca.

Following the news of our Canadian winners at Westminster,CKC was pleased to speak with The Toronto Star andGlobal News to convey our pride in our quality Canadian-breddogs and member breeders.
