What are the events that are mentioned in this passage? How do they demonstrate the truth of “Christ’s pattern of humility?”

In what stories or interactions of Jesus, do you see his deep humility? What did Jesus’ humility communicate to the people he talked to and interacted with? What are ways in which we can live out his pattern of humility in our life?

Prayer: God, we see in Jesus the embodiment of humility. (The fact that he left Heaven, a perfect place, to come here, a broken world, shows more humility than we can even fathom) We want to be like that. We want to put aside self and live for others. Help the humility of Jesus urge us towards serving and loving our neighbors.

What are the events that are mentioned in this passage? How do they point to the truth that “Christ has overcome?”

What exactly did Jesus overcome with his life, death and resurrection? What has Jesus helped you overcome in your life? How can this strengthen you to persevere?

Prayer: Father, sin, oppression, suffering, and death fill our world. At times, we overwhelmed by the brokenness we see around us. But help us hope in this, that Christ has overcome it all and has offered us victory in him. May this hope help us persevere through the difficulties that we face while on this earth.
