GreenSoulICT-platform for higher engagement in energy efficiency
among users of public buildings
One of the main sources of unnecessary energy consumption is the misuse of energy consuming devices and systems in
buildings. Making energy consuming devices more efficient is one of the keys in order to achieve the EU 20-20-20 targets.
The GreenSoul project thus focuses on public buildings and aims to achieve a higher energy efficiency by using a novel ICT
platform empowered by a socio-economic and a behavioural model, which will guide and aid more eco-aware practices
on people, devices and buildings.

Expected Impact Partners
Pilot Buildings
The GreenSoul project will install an energy monitoring platform at six public
(see Figure 1) buildings to evaluate and impact the way people use energy
consuming shared devices and personal devices.
Pilots evaluation comprises several steps. The first two steps (1) energy audit
and (2) baseline creation build the basis to
• know the current state of the pilots sites (see Figure 2) and
• be able to correctly asses the improvements made by the interventions.
The models created within this phase will be updated after every piloting
phase in order to take into consideration any potential modification of the
behaviour of the building.
