This short film is about a girl on her first day at school, who gets picked on because she looks like a man. She then spends the day trying to convince her class mates that she is a girl but no one will believe her so at the end she has no choice but to pull her trousers down and show her women-hood.

The social groups looked at in this video are teenagers. They are perceived as being quite rude and unacceptable of the new girl because she is different and looks like a man. They are also seen as being quite bitchy in the way they are referring to the girl. For example “Ladies first, out of the way”. The teenage social group are also represented by wearing school uniform which is how we would assume teenagers to dress when they are at school.

I feel this short film is aimed at teenagers and majority of the characters are teenagers so if feel they have done this so it is easier for the audience to relate to. Also I found the comedy of this short film to be quite childish and immature so I feel teenagers maybe able to relate to it and enjoy it. Also the mise-en-scene is at a school and in a classroom full of students this sets the scene well as this what we would expect when we see the school and it helps use make assumptions about what might happen.

The genre of this short film is a teen comedy. In the sense it is a comedy aimed at teenagers. I can tell it is this genre due to the fact it is set in a school and a lot of the characters are teenagers. The comedy part comes from the girl who looks like a boy but obviously is a boy but keeps telling everyone he is a girl which gets really over the top which makes it funny. “She” then has to go round trying to convince people that she is a girl. This is shown in a comical way.

The start of this short film involves the main character (Girl that looks like a boy) walking to the school. The camera is first aimed at the characters feet, we then see the skirt, it then moves further up and we see that it is a boy. This is make comical by the character looking at “herself” in the window. The character then books in a school then goes to the classroom with everyone given a funny look. Everyone then begins to laugh in the classroom at the character.

The problem then starts as the other pupils starts bullying and asking questions to character. None of them believe she is a girl. The character keeps reassuring them that he is. They keep replying “Prove it” as teenagers use this type of language. So the character gets more and more annoyed so decides to prove it by flirting with boys which is funny as she is obviously a boy. Also we see some girls go into the toilets and the main character walk in after. The girls then run out screaming.

The problem is solved at the end. The other pupils continue to bully the main character, Who then gets so annoyed that “she” says “For the last time I am a girl and I’ll prove it!” “she” then pull down her skirt and the other pupils then stare with amazement and it finishes on the line “It really is a girl”
