Groundwaters from G3 and BHE plotted on a Bernard (Refs. 8, 9) diagram, also showing diagnostic fields after Schloemer et al. (Ref. 11). The arrows show ranges of 13CH4 signature after Baldassare (Ref. 10). Samples from G1 typically exhibit molar methane/ethane ratios >1000 and also occasionally exhibit highly negative 13CH4, suggesting also a biogenic (CO2 reduction) derivation.
