  • LEARNING OPTIONS FOR

    GRADUAL RETURN

    4 days in person

    100% virtual learning at home

    Parents interested in having their child enrolled in virtual learning must indicate that preference by Friday, August 21st and commit to the first quarter of the school year, ending Friday, November 6th, 2020.

  • 4 DAYS IN PERSON

    • Smaller class size 15-17 students per class• 4.5ft to 6ft desk separation• 5-6 ft teacher separation• Face masks for all students pre-k-8 • Face masks and face shields for teachers• Intervention support• Plexiglass separating desks

  • • Student specials in same classroom• Lunch in gym on separate desks• Lunch aides to assist during lunch session• Gym special outside or in the classroom • Hand washing every 2-3 hours. Hand sanitizing

    station in every classroom• Decals, signs, and reminders guiding students

    throughout the building• All touchpoints wiped every 90 minutes

    K-5 SPECIFIC

    Gradual return October 19th – K-2October 26th – 3-5

  • GRADE 6-8

    SPECIFIC

    • Face masks• One way traffic• Lockers will be assigned to every other locker for social distancing • Locker usage limited • Decals, signs, and reminders guiding students throughout the

    building• All touchpoints wiped every 90 minutes• Block classes to eliminate unneeded interaction• 6ft spacing and one way directional seating• Plexiglass in classrooms, gym• Teachers rotate to minimize student to student interaction

    Targeted return date November 9th

  • ACTIVITIES

    • All school wide events will be virtual for 2020-2021

    • Parents, volunteers, or outside agencies will be restricted from our building.

  • TRANSPORTATION

    • Health check prior to entering the bus• Only siblings sit next to each other• Busses will be disinfected after each trip or route• Drivers will have face masks and for protection• Hand sanitizer on the bus• Windows left open for ventilation

  • FOOD SERVICE

    • Food schedule will be a two week rotation Bagged Lunched will be utilized• For pre-k-8, lunches will be eaten in gym on

    individual desks• One way directional seating• Plexiglass added for additional protection

  • STAFF PROTECTION

    • Protective masks for all staff and students• Mandatory 6 foot distancing• Air filtration devices• Plexiglass for added protection• Screening procedure implemented with use of digital thermometers • One nurse assigned full time• Isolation room in building (N-95 Mask and gowns)

  • CLASSROOMS

    • Classrooms with windows will vent for air circulation

    • Classrooms without windows will have air filtration machines

    • Classrooms will be stocked with cleaning supplies

    • Face shields for each teacher. • Hand sanitizing stations in

    each classroom.

  • CURRICULUM AND TECHNOLOGY

    • Ready Math brand new curriculum k-8 by IREADY

    • Footprint to Literacy digital for k-6 guided reading• Generation Genius K-8 Science • Oddessyware core content curriculum K-8 by

    Edgenuity• Additional Chromebooks and or iPads for all

    students• Clever: Single, secure login for all of students’

    online programs and resources.

  • HEALTH AND HYGIENE

    • Screening procedures implemented at entryways including temperature scans

    • Education of proper hygiene will be part of daily protocol

    • Proper hand washing during restroom breaks will be emphasized

    • Masks for staff and students• Additional custodians on staff to clean all

    touchpoints• Students desks and work areas will be

    wiped down at every opportunity

  • SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING

    • Staff Training• Resource Hubs• Ongoing Check-ins• Access to community resources• Partnerships with Oakland Schools and

    other local organizations

  • ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS

    • Customized curriculum at self paced guide.• ESL teacher along with multiple SIOP certified teachers within the school

    building

  • SPECIAL EDUCATION

    • Students’ IEP and 504 plans will be revised in coordination with general and special education teachers• Developing a continuation of service plans for students’ needs• In person small group IEP services• Establishing structures for general and special education teachers to collaborate on delivery methods for

    assessment and instruction as outlined in IEPs

    To remain prepared for needed shifts from remote learning to in person learning. We will:• Ensure safety protocols are in place• Integrate remote learning tools into planning meetings and in school

    instruction• Monitor students and environment• Safely prepare all classrooms in accordance with CDC guidelines

    • Daily communication with families addressing both learning and social emotional needs

    • Provide resources to families to support online learning, including training• Ensure school personnel are connecting with every family• Conduct frequent check-ins with families, including Zoom meetings and

    surveys
