1. Yaw Damper selector button. Note: The Scout is not fitted with a Yaw Damper. 2. Roll mode annunciator. Displays the active autopilot roll mode (ROL, HDG, NAV, APR, REV). If this anunnciator is blank, the autopilot is not commanding the aircraft in roll. 3. Armed roll mode annunciator. Displays the armed autopilot roll mode (NAV ARM, APR ARM, REV ARM). 4. Autopilot engaged annunciator. Illuminates when the autopilot is engaged. 5. Pitch mode annunciator. Displays the active autopilot pitch mode (VS, ALT, GS). If this anunnciator is blank, the autopilot is not commanding the aircraft in pitch. 6. Armed pitch mode annunciator. Displays the armed autopilot pitch mode (ALT ARM, GS ARM). 7. Selected altitude/vertical speed display. Normally displays the selected altitude in ft. The display indicates the reference vertical speed in ft/min for 3 seconds after the VS (10), UP (18) or DN (19) buttons are pressed. 8. FT/FPM annunciator. Displays FT when the selected altitude is displayed in (7), and FPM when the reference vertical speed is displayed in (7). 9. Altitude arm selector button. When pressed, will activate vertical speed (VS) hold mode, and the aircraft will start a 700 ft/min climb to the selected altitude displayed in (7) if the current altitude is lower than the selected altitude, or a 700 ft/min descent to the selected altitude displayed in (7) if the current altitude is higher than the selected altitude. The vertical speed can be altered by pressing the UP (18) or DN (19) buttons. When the selected altitude is reached, altitude hold mode will be engaged, and the aircraft will maintain the selected altitude. 10. Display reference vertical speed button. When pressed, will display the reference vertical speed in (7) for approximately 3 seconds, after which the display in (7) will revert to the selected altitude. 11. Autopilot engage/disengage button. 12. Flight Director (FD) engage/disengage button. Note: The Scout is not fitted with a Flight Director. 13. Heading mode (HDG) selector button. When pressed, will engage Heading mode, which commands the aircraft to turn to and maintain the heading selected by the heading bug on the HSI. A new heading may be selected at any time and will result in the aircraft turning to the new heading. 1. Yaw Damper selector button.

2. Roll mode annunciator.

reference vertical speed is displayed in (7).

14. Navigation (NAV) mode sector button.

When pressed, will arm the navigation mode. If the selected navigation sensor is less

than 50% deflected when armed, the system will automatically capture. Otherwise

the capture point will vary based on needle deflection and closure rate. The mode

provides automatic beam capture and tracking of VOR or LOC as selected for

presentation on the HSI. NAV mode is recommended for enroute navigation tracking.

If pressed when NAV mode is either armed or coupled it will disengage the mode.

15. Approach (APR) mode selector button.

When pressed, will arm the Approach mode. If the selected navigation sensor is less

than 50% deflected when armed, the system will automatically capture. Otherwise

the capture point will vary based on needle deflection and closure rate. This mode

provides automatic beam capture and tracking of VOR or LOC with Glideslope (GS)

on an ILS, as selected for presentation on the HSI. APR ARM will annunciate. If

pressed when APR mode is either armed or coupled, will disengage the mode.

16. Back course approach (REV) mode selector button.

When pressed, will select the back course approach mode. If the selected navigation

sensor is less than 50% deflected when armed, the system will automatically capture.

Otherwise the capture point will vary based on needle deflection and closure rate.

This mode functions similarly to the approach mode except that the autopilot

response to LOC signals is reversed and glideslope is inhibited.

17. Altitude hold (ALT) mode selector button.

When pressed, will engage the altitude hold mode. The altitude maintained is the

altitude at the moment the ALT button is pressed. If the ALT button is pressed with

an established climb or descent rate present, there will be approximately a 10% (of

VS rate) overshoot, with the aircraft returned positively to the selected altitude. If

pressed when ALT hold mode is engaged, will disengage the mode. Note: this is

different to the way in which the ALT button works on the default FS2004 autopilot.

The ARM button on this autopilot has much the same function as the ALT button on

the default FS2004 autopilot.

18. Increase reference vertical speed button.

When pressed, will increase the reference vertical speed by 100 ft/min per

press. Pressing this button will also display the reference vertical speed in (7) for

approximately 3 seconds.

19. Decrease reference vertical speed button.

When pressed, will decrease the reference vertical speed by 100 ft/min per

press. Pressing this button will also display the reference vertical speed in (7) for

approximately 3 seconds.

20. Altitude Select Knob.

Use this knob to select your cruising altitude. To increase the selected altitude by

1000s, left click and drag up. To decrease the selected altitude by 1000s, left click

and drag down. To increase the selected altitude by 100s, right click and drag up.

To decrease the selected altitude by 100s, right click and drag down.
