KFC(KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN) entered India in
1995. Because of KFC not adhering with the
Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954 and
certain other mistakes it had to leave India. In
2003 it again came back with revised strategies
and willingness to improve its earlier mistakes.Since then KFC has a strong presence in 11 cities of
India with around 50 stores.

The survey revealed that the majority of
people visiting both the places are students
i.e. 27are students and 23 for other. The
strategies adopted by both the companycreates heavy demand among the student
group.

The survey revealed that the vegetarianspreferred McDonald's of the two while KFCproved to be a non-vegetarian paradise. And
the survey results validated ourassumptions by indicating that of the peoplevisiting KFC only 12were vegetarians 38 arenon vegetarian but in McDonald's 26 were
vegetarians 24 are non vegetarian Thisshowed a balanced market

The people visiting daily was few at 6 for KFC
and 8 for McDonald's. Those visiting once
a week were comparable at 14 and 16
respectively. 30 visited KFC once a monthwhile 26 McDonald's hence showing that
though McDonalds scored in the daily visitors
due to the Less price KFC wasahead in terms of people visiting at once a
month.

In KFC 31 found the food priced nominally and
19found it expensive .In McDonald's 46 found
it nominally priced and 4 found it expensive.
Hence in terms of comparative study it wasconcluded that McDonalds was optimally
price although KFC wasn't overpriced either.

about the publicity/advertising strategy of the
food brands .it was noticed that only 15of the
consumers surveyed in KFC were attracted bythe television commercials while other 35
were unaffected. This percentage when
contrasted with McDonald's was a 33-17relationship.

the respective places. The people surveyed
opined that KFC was a favorite when it cameto the originality of the food The vast majority
at McDonald's visited that place mainly
because they found it value for money.

systems satisfactory The others thought it
needed attention.
While at McDonald's this figure was almost
identical at 34 finding it satisfactory and 16

.
The results indicated that around 30 for KFC
and 24 for McDonald's, of people spent
between Rs.100-500 It was also noted that 18people could manage a meal for under Rs. 100
in McDonalds compared to 10 in KFC. The
people who spent above Rs. 500 were 8 and10 for McDonald's and KFC respectively this
shows the price are moderate

CONCLUSION
In India fast food market is strongly dominated
by these 2 brands. But when it comes to
comparing these two brands the following
study brings us to a conclusion that as far asmarket presence and brand value is concerned
McDonald's has definitely proved apoint for
themselves. But KFC who reentered in 2003has shown a rapid progress and no wonder if
in the coming years KFC overtakes
