2019 KFPS News
Hello everyone, To students, parents and friends, welcome to week 9 of our term! We have so much happening at our school that I fear the next 2 weeks will go in a blur! Thank you! Bushfire Fundraiser – A success! Last Friday we, along with many schools around Bendigo, hosted an out of uniform day as part of a HIT FM fundraiser for the Fire appeal. Our school raised $350 towards the appeal and shall donate our funds to the local CFA. Thank you to everyone who donated on the day. Well done! State wide Orientation – Tuesday 10th December Next Tuesday, the State wide Orientation day will be held. Our Grade 6 students will spend the day at their cho-sen secondary school and we will have our last morning of transition for our Kinder Kids. We wish our Grade 6 students all the very best for next Tuesday and know that the transition work that has been put in place will help you to become familiar with the secondary school very quickly. I look forward to seeing our Kinder Kids next Tuesday morning from 9:15am – 10:45am. This will be their fourth and final transition morning with us. There will be a parent information session for ALL Kinder parents held in our GLC next Tuesday morning at 9:30am. You will receive an information pack about booklists, uni-forms and our parent payment policy. There will be a presentation from our Foundation (Prep) teachers, our of-fice staff and Wellbeing Team. I will enjoy meeting parents at this session. Money Smart - Grade 6 Market Day - TOMORROW Our amphitheatre will certainly be the place to be seen tomorrow morning when our Grade 6 students take it over to set up their business. The Grade Six students are well planned and ready to spruik for your business. They have catered for everyone’s needs. Soft drink, ice cream served in a cone with toppings, mystery lucky dip, Christmas bags & baubles, zooper doopers, home-made play dough and oobleck – and so much more! Parents and families are welcome to drop into the school to view the Grade 6 Market stalls and make a purchase. Most items are $1 – so won’t break the bank! Celebration Night – next Thursday 12th December Celebration Night will be held at the JB Osborne Theatre at 6pm Thursday 12th December. This annual event is one of my favourites on our school calendar. The students will entertain us throughout the night and I look for-ward to acknowledging and celebrating the academic achievements of our students in the Foundation – Grade 5 neighbourhoods. I know you will be just as proud of our students as I am. The theme is ‘A Night at the Movies’ and I know you will love the music and the neighbourhood routines. Booklists Booklists will be coming home with the school reports in the last week of school. Our school council has en-dorsed the booklist and essential educational items and as always we have endeavoured to make this as afford-able as possible for all families. Reminders:

Money Smart - Grade 6 Market Day - only 1 day away!
What a wonderful, engaging and humorous presentation of ideas from our Grade 6 students. They are doing their best to promote their stalls. It will cer-tainly be an array of splendour on Thursday as they spruik for business. Mrs Wiegard encourages us to save up our pocket money and bring a few dollars to school, with parent permission. The Grade Six students are well planned; catering for everyone’s needs. Soft drink, ice cream served in a cone with toppings, chocolate bracelets, fruit ke-babs, mystery lucky dip, zooper doopers, home-made play dough and oobleck – and so much more!
Last Friday Zara competed at the Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation Nationals competition with her team Blitz Snowflakes, they placed 4th in their division. Zara is very proud of her medal and we are very happy to share her achievements.
