Keller ISD schools have joined together to form an ice hockey club. Our governing organization is ATT Metroplex High School Hockey (http://www.atthighschoolhockeyleague.com/ ). Please refer to the website for the official rules and eligibility. Keller Hockey has 3 teams (a Junior Varsity and 2 levels of Varsity teams). We generally hold tryouts in early August and our twice weekly practices begin in September. Games run weekly late September – March. This is not a UIL sanctioned sport and there is no athletic credit nor funding through the schools. Players must pay for their own equipment, uniforms and fees. Experience of at least 1

The curriculum includes Aerospace Science (AS), Leadership Education (LE) and Wellness (Physical Fitness). 1614 Tennis is an extracurricular U.I.L. sport that meets in the fall and spring. The class functions on both the Junior Varsity and Varsity levels. On the Junior Varsity level the emphasis is placed on hand-eye coordination, and strengthening the fundamentals. On the Varsity level the emphasis is placed on technique, fine-tuning, and competitive play. Some playing experience is necessary and head coach’s approval is required prior to enrolling.

The Keller High School U.I.L. Academic team consists of students in various academic areas competing for the University Interscholastic League titles. Academic areas include Speech, Debate, Journalism, Computer Applications, Accounting, Computer Science, Ready Writing, Literary Criticism, Science, Mathematics, Calculator, Number Sense, Spelling, Social Studies, Current Events and the One-Act Play. Students compete at the district level with the ability to advance through regionals and on to state. KHS has had students compete on the state level in numerous events.
