A.General Items

A.1. General and Code Notes -- See Cover Sheet.

A.2. Contract Documents and Work - Conform to PSU

General Conditions of Contract and Bid Documents.

A.3. Area / Location of Work -- See drawings.

A.4. All Products shall be installed per manufacturer's

specifications and recommendations. Products listed

shall be as noted. Approved equals shall be allowed

by contractor submitted substitution request form

prior to Bid Invitation deadline. Provide product

submittals samples for PSU to review prior to

ordering product. Product Review approval does not

imply or change the contract documents without an

approved change request and change order.

A.6. Dimensions & Existing Conditions -- All drawing

dimensions shall have preference over scale. Verify

all dimensions and Existing Conditions prior to

scraping, cutting or removal is not permitted unless

approved by PSU Structural Engineer.

B.Demolition

B.1. General Demo --- Remove existing walls, doors,

frames, finishes, electrical, mechanical, and other

building items as required to accommodate new

construction. Remove all abandoned mech., elect.,

and plumbing lines in area of work. Verify all existing

structure and protect. Protect all egress paths and

exits.

B.2. GPR -Survey -- Prior to concrete floor or wall demo

or core penetrations contractor to provide radar

survey report and submit to PSU structural engineer

for approval.

hardware submittal list for review and approval prior

F.1. Signage -- BY PSU -- New floor and building interior

signage per code, ADA, and PSU standard

requirements .

G.Access Control

G.1. PSU to provide, install, and activate access control

low voltage cabeling and devises.

G.2. Contractor to provide complete pathway installation in

walls include conduit and boxes for card readers. Do

not pentrate structure or existing fire .

H. Metal / Wood Cabinetry / Woodwork

H.1. New Metal Cabinetry Island --- None Required.

H.3. New Cabinetry --- All woodwork and cabinetry to

conform to "Custom Grade" - Architectural

Woodwork Institute standards and specifications.

Secure to wall and floor. Provide backing. Wood

species to be Maple, stain-grade, plain sliced, book

matched. Hardwood lumber for exposed and

semi-exposed surfaces to be Maple. Hardwood

Plywood species for exposed surfaces, including both

faces of doors and drawer fronts to be grade "A"

maple veneer with machine applied maple veneer

self edge. Semi-exposed and concealed hardwood

plywood surfaces to be Low pressure decorative

overlay, color: White with machine applied maple

veneer self edge at semi-exposed surfaces and white

at concealed surfaces. All hardwood surfaces to

receive transparent finish with satin sheen in

accordance to AWI and as recommended for

Institutional use. Fasteners shall be size and type to

suit application. Cabinet Hardware---- Concealed

1. General Items

1.1. Framing and Anchoring -- See Section 1 for

framing and anchoring of stud walls, doors, relites,

and glass walls to structure. Typical products listed

or approved equal.

1.2. See spec. notes sheet A2 for more details.

2. Ceilings

2.1. Code -- Ceiling installation to be per latest city of

Portland approved IBC / 25 / # 2 standards.

2.2. Hangers -- Provide additional hangers at all

members within 8" of the ceiling perimeter.

2.3. Hanger connection devices --Secure all hangers to

bldg. structure with approved connector of min 100

lb. capability.

2.4. Stabilizer bar to be between all members at ceiling

perimeter.

2.5. Vertical Struts -- to be at 12' oc each way.

2.6. Sloped Hangers -- Provide (2) counter slope

hangers if more than 1 to 6 out of plumb.

2.7. Trapeze Hangers around ductwork and other large

obstructions.

2.8. Ceiling Grid -- Suspended ceiling grid to be Heavy

Duty type.

2.9. Runners -- Secure cross runners between main

runners

2.10. Gyp. Brd. or Plaster Ceiling as occurs.

3. Walls , Bracing, Fillers, and Insulation.

3.1. New Walls typical --- Unless noted otherwise, walls

to be min. 3-1 /2" x 20 ga. metal studs @ 16"

o.c.with 5 /8" type 'X' gyp. brd. both sides. Do not

secure walls to suspended ceiling grid. Do not cut

ceiling grid at below ceiling walls.

3.2. Bracing -- At wall and windows to be min. 3-1 /2" x

20 ga. metal studs @ 4' o.c. alternating direction at

45 deg. angle max. (w/ vert. studs at window

locations). Secure to L2"x2"x12" x 16 ga. metal

angle at conc. structure above.

3.3. Filler Strip - Jamb to Mullion - 1 /2" thk. x 2" black

closed cell neoprene filler strip. Filler Strip -

Wall Head to Suspended Ceiling - 1/ 4" thk.

x 2" wide.

3.4. Filler - Floor holes --Core Drills or existing max 4"

dia holes patch with 6" dia x 18 ga. metal plate and

epoxy. Fill with 2-hr. safing and fire caulk.

3.5. Filler - Rigid Insulation - fire rated, secure in metal

track framing.

3.6. Ceiling & Wall Insulation - R-11 min.

3.7. Drywall metal edge at gyp. brd. for level smooth

continuous line.

3.8. New Upper Wall - Provide typical vert. studwall,

insulation and bracing above ceiling where full ht.

walls are required per plan.

3.9. Patch Drywall - smooth patch and finish paint

drywall at joining of (2) walls.

3.10. Header - built up metal header above 16 ga. hollow

metal door / window frames. Anchor metal studs on

end secured to top and bottom tracks with #8

screws at 12" oc min. at sides and top and bottom.

4. Doors / Windows

4.1. Doors and Windows.

4.2. Wood door w/ lite -- 1/4" glass lite and wood stops

to match door.

4.3. Hollow Metal Frame .

4.4. Ceiling break to accommodate continuous wall or

window-door frame.

4.5. Hollow Metal Frame Relites (R1 and R2) 1/ 4" clear

temp glass in hollow metal frames.

4.6. Continuous Ceiling - at walls that are constructed

below ceiling.

4.7. Glass Walls (GW) -- 1/2" clear temp. butt joint glass

at jambs with alum. frame sill and continuous head

over door. Clear silicone sealer at butt joints.

4.8. Glass Door (GD)-- 1/2" thick clear tempered glass,

to butt joint glass walls, with 1" x door ht. manuf.

5.4. Hollow Metal Frame Sill -- Powers Fasteners at
