Earlier this year we wrote about thenonsensical move by the Department ofHomeland Security to ban laptops and tabletsin the cabin on �ights from a bunch of cities inthe Middle East. The rumored reason wasdiscoveries that terrorists had learned how tomake bombs out of laptops. As we noted, thismade almost no sense at all when youchallenged any of the assumptions. But, neverlet logic and reason get in the way of a bit ofinane security theater. Because now HomelandSecurity is about to announce that it's nowbanning laptops in the cabins on all �ights fromEurope (it's unclear if this will also apply on�ights from the US to Europe, but it seemslikely that European airports will reciprocate).
