Getting Started With Kidspiration
• The Starter Screen– Using Pre-Made
Activities– Picture View– Writing View
Using the Activities
• Kidspiration comes with a variety of pre-made activities in several different subject areas.
• You can add templates to the Activities area by downloading pre-made templates from the web or by creating your own.
Picture View
• Create story maps, flow charts, and outlines
• Use SuperGroupers to create Venn Diagrams and other sorting activities
• Add pictures from the Library, or import graphics saved on your hard drive
• Add text boxes
Super Groupers
• Use to create sorting and categorizing activities
• Venn Diagrams• Create you own!
Writing View
• Create outlines• Linked to picture view• Publish to Word or
Appleworks to edit and create final story or outline
Switching Between Views
• Create a flow chart or story map in Picture view
• Switch to Writing view to create an outline based on the picture
• Expand picture activities in the Writing view
Exporting Work
• Export as picture file– Can then be imported into
Word or other program
• Export as HTML– Create student portfolio

Create Your Own Templates
• You can create custom templates easily in Kidspiration
• Use the Teacher Menu to access the Activity Wizard
• Customize your activity settings
