OBJECTIVE

As I am just beginning on my career as a teacher I want to establish myself as a reflective teacher who is willing to learn and grow from experience. I aim to build a positive relationship with those within the school community, including students, teachers, administrators and parents. I aim to build a classroom environment that is relaxed, positive and friendly, where students feel welcomed and valued as part of the class. I want to build relationships with other teachers which fosters respect and collaboration.

Working with at risk children, their families and their community. Managing the daily work associated with case work; including

researching, letter writing, problem solving, note taking and document control.

Liaising with government and non-government agencies to provide holistic care to clients and their families.

Attending team meetings and contributing to team work load planning. Completing care plans for children in state care which included

assessing placements and care provided to children in state care.

ATWELL PRIMARY SCHOOL

April 2013 – July 2013 (35 days total experience)

This was the final placement for my Masters of Teaching. I was placed in a year 4 classroom where I steadily built up my teaching load to a

total of 80% by the end of my six week block. My duties covered those that a regular teacher would undertake

including lesson planning, programing, delivering lessons in English, Mathematics, Science and Society and Environment and Sport.

Organizing the ‘Decorated Door’ project which involved planning and structuring the completion of a classroom art project.

Assessing the students using formative and summative means and maintaining daily anecdotal notes.

Implementing my own behavioral management strategies which included a raffle ticket system, as well as using the existing traffic light behavioral management technique.

Using ICT in the classroom, such as computer labs, Ipads and an interactive whiteboard.

Encouraging communication between students, parents and myself on a weekly basis by using a Friday Diary.

PORT KENNEDY PRIMARY SCHOOL

August 2012 – September 2012 (20 days total experience)

Planning and delivering learning programs for English, Mathematics, Art and Society and Environment.

Using ICT to enhance lessons, such as Smartboards and the computer lab.

Creating assessments, checklists, rubrics and assessing students work from lessons I delivered.

Working as part of the year 5 teaching team, sharing ideas and resources with other teachers.

NEERIGEN PRIMARY SCHOOL

May 2012 – July 2012 (10 days total experience)

Although this placement was short I learnt a lot about behavioral management as I was able to observe and implement different behavioral management techniques.

Creating lessons for Mathematics, English and Art and then delivering these to the class.
