lives with curious minds, fiery intellects, andpassionate purpose.
They are prepared to confidently take charge, blaze new trails, and contribute greatly to the world as global citizens and future innovators.
No matter what challenges they face, our students are ready to evolve and tackle any new adventure with bold determination.
We imagine endless possibilities for their future–and we are eager to fulfill our promise by helping them achieve their greatest potential during their Foundational Decade of learning at Kingsley.
KINGSLEY STUDENTS LEAD
“What we envision is the optimal
enrichment of our students’ learning
experience through the integration
of our co-curricular programs and
subject disciplines. The growth
of our STEAM curriculum and
application of new, advanced
teaching concepts such as design
thinking, will help deepen our
students’ learning and create more
opportunities for self-discovery,
inquiry, creativity, collaboration,
and problem solving—preparing
our students for future success as
confident, lifelong learners.”
– Renee DuChainey-Farkes, Head of School
This is a momentous time in our School’s
history. With our humble roots reaching
as far back as 1938, Kingsley has been
a prominent fixture within the Boston
community. The Kingsley of today has
evolved into a premier, independent
Montessori school, serving more than 300
students age two to twelve. Our ongoing
efforts to continually improve and deliver program innovation has increased
the demand for a Kingsley education and positioned the School at the
forefront of independent, elementary schools.
Dear Friend of Kingsley,
The School’s success is largely due to our ongoing commitment to knowing
each child as an individual learner and cultivating deep partnerships
with parents during their families’ Foundational Decade of learning at
Kingsley. The result is strong retention rates and enrollment growth for the
past several years, which offers us an exciting opportunity to realize our
educational vision. The Evolve Campaign will allow us to build a state-of-
the-art learning environment that offers the best teaching resources and
educational programs for our faculty and students.
The campaign’s key objectives include:
• Expansion of our Elementary Program’s learning environment and
programs to offer an unparalleled, twenty-first century education with
flexible, learning spaces to provide the best teaching and learning for
our faculty and students;
• Enhancement of the Early Childhood Program’s courtyard space to
improve our students’ outdoor experience and connection with nature
along with the restoration of the building’s structure and fixtures to
improve energy efficiencies; and
• Commitment to the Annual Fund to continue investing in faculty and
student programming and to provide long term financial sustainability.
We hope you will join us in the campaign for Kingsley. Together, we can
protect the legacy of our institution and build a promising future for the
next generations.
Sincerely,

evolution of the
our Elementary learning environment and programs to offer an unparalleled,
twenty-first century education with flexible workspaces to provide the best
teaching and learning experience for our faculty and students.
Kingsley’s commitment to innovation and academic excellence will provide
increased opportunities for our students to engage with technology,
engineering and science, math, and the arts. Our vision for a “Montessori
Plus” educational model enhances our students’ learning through a more
integrated program with our core and co-curricular subject disciplines and
offers our teachers more collaboration with project-based learning.
With your support, we will expand

ELEMENTARYBUILDING
The expansion of our Elementary building to the 5th floor will include
new Project Studios for each Lower and Upper Elementary classroom. These
studios will facilitate large-scale projects and differentiated learning for
small groups of students. The reconfiguration of floors 2-4 will create larger
classrooms to offer Lower Elementary students two floors of learning space.
The 5th floor will be dedicated entirely for Upper Elementary students.
The new Library and Digital Media Center, a state-of-the-art space, will
house the latest in research tools and electronic media. The Library will also
house an expanded collection of literature and research materials that will
enable students to actively engage in peer book reviews, recommendations,
and book tracking with a new, digital library catalogue.
The Science Lab will nearly double in size to accommodate a full class of
twenty-four students. Students will explore larger more complex projects
and experience greater leadership opportunities through extended peer-
based experimentation and research.
The larger Performing Arts Studio will offer new, built-in staging for
inhouse performances and presentations, creating more opportunities to
augment our choral music and instrumentation programs. Visual Arts will
have improved access to technology and integration with Performing Arts by
incorporating stage and costume design into the curriculum.
EARLY CHILDHOODBUILDING
restoration of the
the courtyard space to improve the outdoor experience and connection with
nature for our students and restore the Early Childhood building’s structure
and fixtures to improve energy efficiencies.
What we envision for the outdoor courtyard space is an extension of
our students’ learning, where they can engage with nature and science in
meaningful ways, benefitting from the creativity and freedom that outdoor
play inspires.
Originally a four-story brick townhouse called the Saltonstall Mansion,
the building at 30 Fairfield Street has served preschool children and their
families from as early as the 1930s. In 1987, with the merger of the Kingsley
School and Back Bay Montessori, the location has evolved into the Kingsley
Montessori School of today.
Over the years, the building has received updates periodically as Kingsley’s
primary physical asset. It now requires renovations to modernize the
physical facilities in order to improve energy efficiencies and preserve this
important historic landmark.
With your support, we will enhance
RESTORATION OF THE EARLY CHILDHOOD BUILDING• Refurbishment of the outdoor courtyard, which will extend student
learning and enhance the outdoor experience through more science
• Installation of energy efficient, modern windows
• New roof installed
• Renovation of bathroom facilities with new fixtures
• Projected cost: $1 million
COMMITMENTyour
the necessary revenue for the Annual Fund to continue investing in faculty
and student programming and to provide operational support.
Giving to the Annual Fund is one of the most important ways to support
Kingsley. These contributions enrich every aspect of our community.
For students, the Annual Fund provides more opportunities to experience
and develop programs like the MMUN, the Appalachian Mountain Club
(AMC), Big MAC athletics, and capstone experiences such as Ocean’s
Classroom. Teachers have access to the latest professional development
offerings to advance their teaching and curriculum. Through a broad
range of campus events and guest lectures, Kingsley is able to offer our
parent community better resources and information about their children’s
development and more opportunities to learn from one another.
Tuition does not cover the full cost of operating the School. Kingsley’s
Annual Fund makes up the difference to ensure our students receive the best
learning opportunities and programs. The Annual Fund also allows us to
invest in our faculty and ensures current and future families can continue to
experience a Kingsley education.
With your support, we will raise
KINGSLEY’S ANNUAL FUND PROVIDES• Programming for students including capstone experiences
and Big MAC athletics
• Professional development for faculty and staff
• Curriculum development
• Classroom, and campus and facilities maintenance
• Operational support
• Goal: $1.2 million
