This is a picture of our 6 year old Husky, Kyla, having some fun with our son, Flynn (10 weeks old). They are best buddies and Kyla loves to be a second mommy to him, no matter where he goes! She's a wonderful dog that we adopted from another Air Force member who could no longer take care of her: Wingman Concept!

My  husband  deployed  with  Sara  twice  to  Afghanistan  while  stationed  at  Camp  Pendleton  with  the  K-‐9  unit

attached  to  the  1st  LEB.  She  retired  from  service  in  June  of  2013  and  has  adjusted  well  with  our  family,  especially  our  daughters.

Sable  is  a  Husky,  born  July  4th  2010  as  a  trouble  maker  puppy!      He  is  very  friendly  and  still  howls  when  we  get  home  from  work  and  wake  up  in  the  morning.

Krista  Clendenen    Zoey  is  our  loving  pup,  pictured  here  with  our  young,  single  airmen  friend.  This  is  his  first  station  (overseas)  so  whenever  Zoey  runs  and  greets  him  at  the  door  with  love,  he  remembers  his  dog  at  home.  Zoey  is  the  dog-‐away-‐from-‐dog  for  all  of  our  single  airmen  friend.  She  snuggles  often  despite  her  size!

Saucy is our biggest supporter! She’s lived in the wilderness of Alaska, the deserts of Nevada, and now on the tropical paradise of Okinawa. She was lucky enough to see the top of an F-15! She’s full of love and joy, and never meets a stranger.

    Stacie  Philippi

This  picture  shows  the  sweet  embrace  of  two  friends  saying  goodbye  the  day  of  deployment.  This  is  not  Sadie’s  first  deployment,  it’s  her  third.  She  has  become  accustomed  to  saying  goodbye  to  him.  People  are  not  the  only  ones  that  are  affected  by  deployment.  Our  furry  children  are  as  well!

Our family adopted Pharah in Germany while stationed at Ramstein AFB. Germany. She is an energetic cat who loves to cuddle and "talk." She goes for walks on a leash just like dogs and enjoys "barking" at birds outside. She is 3 years old and we just love her.

Sarah  Paine    Meet  Nishibi,  the  coolest  hamster  on  the  planet!    When  this  little  guy  isn't  wearing  his  Captain  America  cape,  he's  busy  rolling  around  in  his  ball,  or  stuffing  seeds  in  his  mouth.    He's  cuddly,  cute  and  greets  me  with  a  little  squeak  every  day  when  I  come  home  from  work.

  • Tracy  Deck

Shiloh  is  an  odd  ball.  He  is  an  un-‐husky  like  husky.  He’s  as  mellow  as  it  gets,  and  he  is  also  shy  around  new  people.    He  only  howls  in  his  sleep,  usually  at  3  am.  He  will  eat  EVERYTHING  except  tomatoes  and

demands  his  half  of  he  bed  nightly.

Smaug, my 16 foot Burmese python named for Tolkien's mythical dragon, has been a constant companion since hatching 36 years ago. Now weighing in at over 100 pounds, Smaug still provides guidance for reconnaissance, as seen in this Map Check where she is pinpointing the location for the "low crawl".

Zeak  is  a  Psychological  service  dog  that  we  trained  ourselves.    He  has  helped  raise  PTSD  awareness  in  our

community.    He  also  helps  rehabilitate  rescued  terriers  through  our  local  rescue  group.    He  was  featured  in  a  FUZE  online  article  to  raise  PTSD  dog  awareness.      He  is  my  saving  grace.

    Staci-‐Jill  Burnley

This  may  look  like  a  simple  photo  of  a  cat  with  a  sign,  but  the  story  behind  it  is  so  much  more!  KC  is  17  years-‐old  and  has  been  with  my  husband  longer  than  I  have.  Two  months  before  he  was  due  home,  she  seemed  not  herself  and  I  took  her  to  the  vet-‐  she  was  in  critical  kidney  failure  and  not  expected  to

survive.  Being  the  iron-‐strong  fur  baby  of  an  Airborne,  Air  Assault,  Ranger  dad  with  seven  PSC  moves  under  her  belt,  she  amazed  us  all  and  pulled  through.  She  sat  with  me  while  I  made  this  for  my  husband  the  night  before  he  landed  in  DC  and  it's  the  photo  I  treasure  most-‐  because  she  fought  so  hard  to  be

there  with  me  to  welcome  him  home.
