We have entered the holiday season marked by our Thanksgiving celebration on Thursday. Hopefully Thanksgiving was satisfying for you. Unfortunately, the holiday season is often marked with contradicting emotions and experiences depending on the state of our personal relationships. Generally, if we have family and friends around with a depth of closeness and intimacy, braving the shopping lines and festive preparation will be a fulfilling labor of love. However, if we feel lonely due to distance or emotional isolation, we find the season to be deeply disappointing and painful regardless of our financial situation. The holiday season is a magnifier of our overall relational experience throughout the year.
If you have a strong network of relationships, the season will increase those bonds to even greater levels with the holy presence of Christ. Increase your network by reaching out to others with a heart of charity and welcome. Often the smallest of gestures of friendship and hospitality can impact lives of others in magnificent ways. The incarnation occurs each day we, the body of Christ, choose to express the gospel.
If on the other hand your relational network is weak and dissatisfying, you must turn to the basic realty of love in your life. First and most obvious, what is LOVE? God is Love and so it is through the revelation communi-cated in the incarnation of Christ that the establishment of quality and satisfying love relationships is accom-plished. It is in Christ and a relationship with God where our life begins and is fulfilled throughout eternity.

Hemos entrado en la temporada festiva marcada por nuestra celebración de Acción de Gracias el jueves. Esperemos que el Día de Acción de Gracias haya sido satisfactorio para ti. Desafortunadamente, la temporada de festivos a menudo está marcada por emociones y experiencias contradictorias dependiendo del estado de nuestras relaciones personales. En general, si tenemos familiares y amigos cerca con una profunda cercanía e intimidad, desafiar las líneas de compras y la preparación festiva será una labor de amor gratificante. Sin embargo, si nos sentimos solos debido a la distancia o al aislam-iento emocional, encontramos que la temporada es profundamente decepcionante y dolorosa, independien-temente de nuestra situación financiera. Es en Cristo y en una relación con Dios donde nuestra vida comienza y se cumple por toda la eternidad.

In addition to the usual time for the Sacrament of Penance on Friday (6-7pm), confessions will also be heard on Saturday at 4:30-5pm, Nov. 30, Dec. 7, Dec. 14, & Dec. 21. The expectation is that you arrive for your confession at that time.

They will begin on December 16 at 6:30 pm with
a novena of Posadas and closing on December 23
with a Christmas dinner. Starting with a Mass at
5:30 following with the Posada and ending in the
Parish Hall with a Pot-Luck Christmas dinner to share. Please
bring a dish to share.
The Posadas begin nine days before celebrating Christmas and remember the journey of the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph to Bethlehem.
La Iglesia de San Esteban les hace una cordial invitación a toda la comunidad a participar

Iniciarán el día 16 de diciembre a las 6:30 pm con una novena de posadas y cerrando el 23 de diciembre con una cena Navideña. Comenzando con una Misa a las 5:30pm siguiendo con la Posada y

Purchased items should be returned UNWRAPPED and placed under the Giving Tree with the tag securely fastened onto the gift. Please return the gift by the due date of De-cember 8th.

As the end of the year approaches it is a good time to check on the total of your contributions for 2019 prior to the December 31 tax year deadline.
