We trust you found the information we shared to be useful. If you have any feedback or suggestions for future information evenings please speak with Glenn or Cynthia. At this mornings meeting PTA scheduled a variety of exciting events for 2018. Dates for these events will be made available on Skoolbag in the coming days. Information about PTA events will be promoted through our weekly newsletters and a new, Term PTA news- letter. There was also discussion about how funds raised by PTA can best support the needs of our students. Details will be provided once ratified by School Council. Todays newsletter includes important information about School Councils. Our 2018 School Council election process commences on Monday 19th of February with a notice of the election and call for nominations. The following timeline will apply for this election: Mon 19th Feb: Notice of election & call for nominations Mon 26th Feb: Nominations close Wed 28th Feb: List of candidates displayed By Tuesday 6th March: Ballot papers distributed by this date. Tuesday 13th March at 4pm: Ballot closes Tuesday 13th March at 5pm Vote count Wednesday 14th March: Declaration of ballot Monday 19th March: First School Council Meeting to elect office bearers. Nomination forms can be collected from the school office. If you would like more information please speak to Glenn or Cynthia. In teaching the skills of organisation we expect all students to use a communication bag (Red or Blue ) to carry important messages, take home readers and home learning activities to and from school. Communication bags can be purchased from the office for $10. There will be prizes for classes where all students have a communication bag. Punctuality is a valuable habit for children to learn. Students arriving late miss out on important information or instruction time at the beginning of the learning session. It also distracts other students from their work and disrupts teachers. As we strive to make the most of all learning times, please assist class teachers by ensuring your children arrive at school on time. Please remember students should arrive at school from 8:40am and leave grounds after school by 3:30pm. Grounds are supervised from 8:40 – 8:55am and from 3:15 – 3:30pm. If you need to access the school earlier in the morning and/or later in the afternoon than these times we do have an excellent Before & After School program which is operated by Extend. For further information about this program please visit their website at www.extend.com.au or call on 1300366437. Kismet Park has two adventure playground areas—a Prep to 2 playground and a Years 3-6 playground (with the spider). The equipment in each playground has been designed as ap- propriate to each age group. We ask that parents ensure their children play on the appropriate equipment before and after school. For student safety reasons please ensure you always Drive & Park Safely and Legally. Because of the narrow streets surrounding our school parking can be a problem. Please do not exacerbate this problem by careless or illegal practices. To provide a safe environment for all of our students to arrive and leave school safely please ensure that you: Do not use the staff car park. Do not double park anywhere. Do not drop off in the oval car park if there are no parking spaces. Always ensure you and your children use pedestrian crossings. Ensure your children DONT jump fences. Have a great week! Dear Parents, Staff and Students,

Thank you to all families who attended our ‘Community

Welcome Evenings’. We trust you found the information we

shared to be useful. If you have any feedback or suggestions

for future information evenings please speak with Glenn or

Cynthia.

At this morning’s meeting PTA scheduled a

IT’S SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB

TIME Notices for the FIRST Scholastic Book Club

for the year are being sent home today. If

you would like to order a book from Book

Club, all orders and monies must be returned by

lunchtime on THURSDAY 22nd of February.

Alternately, you can order your own child’s Book Club by

Thursday February 22nd online using the LOOP system. If

you have any queries regarding Book Club or the LOOP

system, or would like some extra brochures, please come

and see me in the Library.

Please remember to put your child’s name on your order

sheet and order by the due date.

Orders usually take about 1 week to arrive and will be

delivered to your child’s classroom.
