While fires on their own are dangerous, kitchen fires take things to a whole new level. After all, they’re some of the toughest, fiercest fires to fight and control.

Once oil and fat reach a certain temperature, they release gases that burn at a lower temperature than the flames. In just seconds, this can turn into a fire situation, threatening to get out of control, reaching temperatures as high as 400̊ C, endangering precious lives and destroying expensive kitchen equipment. What’s more, with oil, hot fumes and other inflammables like LPG on the premises, the danger is considerably aggravated.

It gets worse. The chemicals used to put out these fires cause further damage - ruining equipment, supplies and everything else the chemicals come into contact with.

Introducing the automated Ceasefire Kitchen Suppression System. A system specifically designed to put out kitchen fires without causing any collateral damage. Triggered by rise in temperature, this powerful, automated firefighting system is fully equipped to douse the flames, before they spiral out of control. While its Watermist technology ensures that the fire is put out quickly, without causing any further damage to your kitchen.

Why Watermist Technology:

It’s common knowledge that there is no fire extinguisher older or more potent than water. With its massive cooling power of 2.6 MW per litre per second, water kills even the largest of fires in minutes. But even fire’s worst adversary has its shortcomings. Using water on an oil fire or an electrically started blaze

can be a fatal mistake. What you need is cutting-edge technology that changes water’s natural form, so that it can fight fires without causing any collateral damage. And without any delay. Ceasefire’s Watermist technology does just that.

How Watermist works:

This revolutionary technology breaks water down into a fine mist of less than 70 microns. This mist is then thrown at the fire with a optimal kinetic force, covering a large surface area. As soon as the mist comes in contact with the fire, it instantly turns into steam.

Enveloping the flames, cutting down the oxygen supply and reducing the temperature to below combustion levels. Ensuring that even the largest fire succumbs to Watermist technology. In seconds.

Components of the Kitchen Suppression System:

Page 8: Kitchen Suppression

Stainless Steel Cabinet

The cylinders and mechanical release system with a manifold are housed in a stainless steel cabinet, which is available in Two Cylinder Housing and Four Cylinder Housing variants.

The mechanical release module uses a spring-loaded mechanical input and output. The system can be activated in two ways – automatically by the fusible links detection network or manually by a remote manual pull station.

Fusible Links

The detection network that activates the system uses a fusible link, which responds to rapid increases in temperature due to fire.

Indirect ValveFusible Plugs

Made of SS works on pres-sure differential method to activate the system upon detection.

Made of SS housing with lead ceilings, melts due to high temperatures and activates the Indirect Valve.

Pneumatic Heat SensingTube

Tube gets ruptured at high temperatures to activate the Indirect Valve.

Actuation Cylinder /Manifold Bracket

The actuation cylinder contains water and is pressurised with 15 bars of nitrogen. The cylinder is fitted with a pressure gauge for easy verification. The agent cylinder manifold bracket is made of stainless steel and features a factory supplied discharge hose, pressure gauge and a pipe outlet.

As the manual pull stations are "dual action", both a ring pin and lever must be pulled in order to discharge the system manually.

Electrical Gas Valve

If an electrically operated gas valve is required, it operates by using a micro switch and a manual reset relay.

Fine Watermist is discharged through non-corrosive stainless steel nozzles that have been specially designed for enhanced throw to ensure effective dousing of kitchen fires and heated cooking oil.

Made of stainless steel, or from any material at least equivalent in resistance to corrosion in the given operating conditions.

The system agent is normal water which remains pressurised inside the containers. The cooling properties of water are leveraged to the maximum by delivering the water in mist form, ensuring higher coverage while eliminating dangerous splashes from overheated cooking oil.

How the Ceasefire Kitchen Suppression System works:

The first sensors that trigger the system are fusible links. In the event of an abnormal rise in temperature, these heat-sensitive links break instantly. When the links break, the cylinder valve connected to four cylinders, containing normal water and dry nitrogen pressurising agent, opens. Propelled by the pressurised nitrogen, the water in the cylinder is pushed through a specially designed dip tube. As soon as the water reaches the mist generator, it gets converted to a fine 70 micron mist. The Watermist is then discharged from strategically located nozzles, installed in the hob, filters and

even the exhaust ducts. Simultaneously, the valves connected to the gas supply line are shut down, removing any chances of further heating. With the source of fuel blocked and the Watermist forming a blanket over the cooking oil and the flames, the fire is quickly brought under control. What’s more, the mist’s cooling effect also minimises any chances of re-ignition.

The Ceasefire Kitchen Suppression System de-activates when the supply of gas or water is exhausted or if the supply of the same is manually shut off.
