Kitten & Super Kitten Refurbishment Programme for PPS rigs.

At PPS, we are constantly upgrading and expanding our hire fleet. We do this by purchasing new equipment, and by refurbishing and improving our existing machinery.

The PPS refurbishment programme includes the complete strip down, refurbishment, re-painting and rebuild of our Kitten and Super Kitten limited access piling rigs.

The accompanying images and explanations show the Super Kitten in the process of refurbishment.

It is our aim to repeat this process with all of our Kitten and Super Kitten rigs throughout 2012, so that you can hire from PPS with confidence.

Kitten & Super Kitten Refurbishment Programme for External Clients.

Running in conjunction with the refurbishment programme for our own Kitten and Super Kitten rigs, PPS are offering the same high standard workshop refurbishment to clients who operate Unwin made rigs of their own.

We can offer a complete refurbishment package or certain elements of the programme can be chosen as necessary saving time and costs.

There are several options available to clients wishing to use this facility, starting with a part exchange against recently refurbished rigs.

This option may be preferable as the customer will not be inconvenienced by being without a rig for any length of time.

Another option would be to hire a rig when required at a reduced rate during the time that the customers own rig is being refurbished.

At all times we will strive to complete the refurbishment as quickly and economically as possible, but this will of course be governed by the condition of the rig, and availability of parts.

The PPS Kitten and Super Kitten refurbishment package comprises of the following elements, and after a full assessment the client chooses how comprehensive the refurbishment works will be based on budget and timescales.Refurbishments, upgrades and improvements can be selected from the list below, to create a tailor made package to suit each individual rig.

» Strip down & assess» Refurbish torque head» Refurbish track motors» Engine refurbishment» Refurbish & reseal valve block» Re-position filter» Install operating levers to side of machine (if required)» Refurbish hydraulic pump» Replace chains, rollers, mast pivot, and wear strips» Modify chassis to allow adjustment or work on valve block» Refurbish all hydraulic rams and fit check valves to mast rams (if required)» Renew hydraulic pipes» Rewire electrical system» Replace tracks» Replace battery» Repaint» Test

Repositioning the filter to be more accessible for regular

maintenance.

Modifying the chassis to allow adjustment or work on valve block, reduces down time on site.

Refurbished torque heads, track motors, valve blocks and engines are used to revitalise tired old rigs.

Sliders, wear strips, chains, pulleys and swivels are checked and repaired or replaced during the refurbishment of the mast.

The introduction of side operating levers and check valves on the hydraulic rams are important safety improvements on the original, and are definitely recommended if not already present.
