2016 Sew Nice Fabric ClubAs we start the new year we will also start a new Sew Nice Fabric Club. The 2015 Sew Nice Fabric Club expired on 12/31/15. So what is this all about you ask? Our Fabric Club works much like other clubs - you pay your “dues” of $20.00 and that entitles you to a 15% discount on fabrics, fat quarters, pre-cuts and kits for the entire year. Fabric prices continue to increase so belonging to our Fabric Club is a great way to off-set these increases. Your membership fee is non-transferrable. This fun pattern is from Fons & Porter Scrap Quilts, Summer 2015. If you have been in the shop you might have seen Jane Stillman or Donna Hanley or Diane Marvin working on this project. The quilt on the left was made by Donna and the quilt on the right was made by Diane. Because we are going to convert this

entire pattern to use Deb Tucker (Studio 180 Design) tools and the pattern works with the quilt in sections we thought that this pattern is perfect as a block of the month. You may want to do your quilt scrappy like Donna and Jane or you may want to have a color scheme like Diane. Sew Nice will have the magazine for you to purchase. You will also need Deb Tucker’s V-Block, Tucker Trimmer, and Split Recs tools. Please note that this quilt is still supposed to have two borders and will finish at 65” x 83”. For the comfortable beginner and beyond.

Now is the time for you to learn how to quilt. This Lucky Stars pattern will be your first quilt. Learn how to quilt and start having more fun than you can imagine. This quilt can be made any size from crib to king (although we suggest starting with the throw size) by using fat quarters. The color combinations are endless and we will be glad to help you select your fabrics.

Thursday Night Open SewThursday, January 21st, 4:00 - 9:00Cost: $5.00

Several people have asked about having an Open Sew time in the evening for those unfortunate people that haven’t been able to retire yet. So...at least for January through August we have scheduled Open Sew on the 3rd Thursday of the month. So grab your working quilting buddies and plan an evening of fun quilting. Don’t forget to pack something for your dinner or perhaps you will want to order out. Please remember that Open Sew means that you are working on your own project and that no instructions will be provided.

The storms may come and the snow may blow so...... in the case of winter weather please call Sew Nice to be sure that we are open and that the class you want to attend is being held.

Stay tuned for information about our Super Bowl Sunday on February 7th. We will be forming 2 Super Quilting Teams to compete with each other to complete a fun project on Super Bowl Sunday. There will be tailgate snacks and prizes!!! Details will be coming to you in an e-mail very soon. So reserve the date for some great game day fun.

Join us for a Pantie Raid January 15-23, 2016

Sew Nice is joining forces with quilt shops around the world to collect panties, undies, socks, PJ’s and more for our local women’s shelters. Drop off a new store-packaged item for women or children and receive a fat quarter as a thank you for your generosity. Currently Chenango County does not have a women’s shelter. However women and children from our immediate area are being housed in Oneonta, Binghamton, and Madison County. So your donations will be split between these three locations.

Many of our customers already know that we have updated our point of sale system. What this means for us is that soon our cash register, e-mails, website, newsletters, ordering, and inventory will all be on one system. What this will mean for our customers is that we will have a better way for you to get our newsletters and e-mails. Our website is also going to have much more information. Many of the products that we sell in our store will be shown on the website. All of this change-over will take time and we will need your help to be sure that all of our information is as accurate as possible. When you next visit Sew Nice we will be asking you to verify the information that we have in our

computer. We want to be sure that we have your address, e-mail address, phone number, and cell phone number correct in our system. We have also realized that we do not have e-mail addresses for more than 50% of our customers. So we will be working hard to be sure to get everything filled in on the system. Some of the information has to be transfered by each customer - like your frequent buyer points and gift certifcates that have been purchased. We have all that data and are working very hard to get everything changed over as soon as possible. Please be patient while we make these changes. And know that when the entire system is complete you will be able to get information much easier than you have in the past.
