High demandsPre-insulated pipeline systems as usede..g. in district heating and waste waternetworks, are well known all over theworld. This technology of embeddingpipes becomes increasingly demandingin terms of valves.

District heatingValves which are used in district heatingpipeline networks must be completely re-sistant to pipeline forces like pressure,tear, residual stress, etc., tight in the portand against the atmosphere. Economicalinsulation of the valve must as well beprovided for pre-insulated installation.

KLINGER MonoballThe new generation of one-pieceKLINGER Monoball ball valves followsthese demands without compromise.

In cooperation with the user and based onthe experience of many years each con-structional detail has been optimized. Theone-piece body and the design of the con-nection piece made of steel, make the

KLINGER Monoball resistant to pipelineforces and residual stress. In this way theperfect function in the long run of thesevalves is guaranteed.

Monoball sealing systemcompetitivelessly tight

The sealing systemTwo sealing lips touching the ball providedouble tightness. This is possible be-cause of the particular shape of the PTFE-sealing ring. With the ball pressing thesealing ring into the holding device, themedium is stopped from creeping in.

O-rings made from high quality Elastomerprovide the seal for the spindle. This ma-terial is highly thermal resistant and is re-commended for cold and hot water.

PTFE-bushes which are used for spindlebearings ensure an easy going operation.Because the spindle is installed from theinside of the valve body it is burst-proofand blow-off safe.

The operating angle of the spindle is li-mited to 90° by means of a stop bar andis independent from the lever. The opera-ting position of the ball can still be identi-fied by the position of the upper end of thespindle, even when the lever is removed.

Operating variationsKLINGER Monoball is available with handlever or mounting flange for mechanicalgear.

From size DN 200 on the Monoballis offered inclusive gear.

The valves are available with operating-stem extension (350 mm) or suitable forunderground installation (acc. to AGFW-guide lines).The constructional design with extendedshaft for underground installation allowseasy and economical pre-insulation. If itis necessary to increase the layer of soilthat covers the valve, an extension can beobtained, mounted to the existing, pre-in-sulated valve and adapted to the thicknessof the soil layer.
