We know that any therapy must also be able to provide an appropriate response to setbacks. That is why your personal therapist is always there for you and your individual treatment plan is geared to your recovery process. After all, you are the one who can best determine how the treatments are working. We want to challenge you but not overtax you.

The focus is always on your own personal recovery process – be it in the context of group or individual therapy. our clinic neatly combines the architectural style that is traditional of Upper Bavaria with modern trends. Great importance was also attached to creating an interior design that achieves a unique blend of local materials, regional design components and contemporary design elements, colours and creative forms.

a FaMIlY traDItIOn FOr OVEr 50 YEarS: the historY oF our CliniC

our clinic is a traditional, family-run establishment situated on the shores of Lake Tegernsee. In the middle of the 20th century, the young Anna klitzsch, who had taken up residence in the spa region with her seriously ill husband, Ludwig, founded the clinic under the name “Alpensanatorium”. The clinic has since evolved into a state-of-the-art medical centre for follow-up treatments and rehabilitation measures.

Today klinik im Alpenpark is, above all, synonymous with a combination of tradition and modernity, as well as luxurious facilities and medical excellence.

1950 Purchase of what today is Wallberghaus, which for a

long time served as the owner’s private family home.

1962 The former 55-bed sanatorium and today’s main building.

1967/68 Construction of a new wing, which today houses

five patient’s rooms and a swimming pool.

1984 The former staff quarters become part of the

clinic and today carry the name Defreggerhaus.

1986 The owner’s former private home, today’s Wallberghaus,

is remodelled and expanded following a fire.

1988/89 Addition of recreation rooms, a gymnastics hall, today’s therapy departments

and other rooms. Today they comprise part of the main building.

1993 What was once a villa reserved for use by the head physicians becomes

part of the clinic. Today the building is used as staff quarters.

1996/97 Demolition of the former garden cottage in which Franz von Defregger once lived.

Expansion of Defreggerhaus and construction of the corridor connecting it with Wallberghaus.

2015/16 16 Construction of Ringberghaus with 18 new suites

as well as seminar and treatment rooms. At the same time, the clinic lobby was enlarged and

remodelled and a conservatory added to the restaurant.

Tegernsee has a long tradition as an ideal place to convalesce. regardless of whether it was pilgrims 500 years ago, high nobility in the 19th century or patients at our clinic today: the region is known around the world for its health-enhancing qualities.

The clinic grounds are located in the idyllic spa town of Bad Wiessee, which is situated directly on Lake Tegernsee, just an hour south of Munich. This location makes it easy for friends and relative to visit you, regardless of whether they are

coming by car: Exit the A8 motorway at Holzkirchen / Tegernsee and then follow the signs to Bad Wiessee. our clinic is situated at the end of town ( in the section of the town called ringsee) on the left.

or by train: from Munich’s main train station, take the Bayerische oberlandbahn train (BoB) to Gmund. from there, take the connecting bus ( ringlinie B ) to Bad Wiesee (“ringsee” bus stop). The bus stop is approximately five minutes from the clinic.
