WHAT IS BIG BEN?

Big Ben is the bell that strikes the hours in the clock tower above the Houses of Parliament at Westminster in London.

WHAT IS IT FAMOUS FOR?

The tower being renamed in 2012 (from "Clock Tower") to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II . Now it is officially called the Elizabeth Tower.The tower has become one of the most prominent symbols of the United Kingdom and is often in the establishing sort of films set in London.

CLOCK.Big clock Westminster are the world's largest four-sided clock with fight.

BELLS.Bell’s diameter is about three meters, it weights almost 14 tons, and has a height of 2 meters.

NICKNAME.The nickname was applied first to the Great Bell; it may have been named after Sir Benjamin Hall, who oversaw the installation of the Great Bell.

London Eye is a giant wheel on the south bank of the River Thames in London.

WHAT IS IT FAMOUS FOR?

It is the most popular tourist attraction in the UK with over 3.5 million visitors a year.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION.

The London Eye was designed by architects Frank Anatole, Nic Bailey, Steve Chilton, Malcolm Cook, Mark Sparrowhawk , a husband and wife team of Julia Barfield and David Marks.

The entire structure is 135 meters (443 feet) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 meters (394 feet).

PASSENGER CAPSULES.Each of the 10-ton (11 short tons) capsule is one of the areas of London, and accommodates up to 25 people who can walk freely inside the capsule, although the accommodation provided.

 OPENING.The London Eye was officially opened by the Prime Minister Tony Blair December 31, 1999, although it was not open to the public until March 9, 2000 due to technical problems.
