This is the first edition of the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) Career Guide giving full career course guidelines

to secondary school students. A number of students completing Primary School, Secondary School and even Technical

College lack basic and critical information on the foundations of career planning and choice. Some enroll to study a course

where they clearly lack basic foundation.

This Career Course Guideline intended to give information on entry requirements to course choices after completion of

school. It gives a variety of programmes examined by the KNEC at Artisan, Craft, Certificate, Diploma, Higher Diploma and

Professional levels for school leavers to study after leaving school.

This Career Course Guide which will be distributed to all schools in Kenya, addresses the specific subject requirements for

specific career courses and the various career fields to choose from.

As I wish the reader a most informed course choice I take this opportunity to thank the Department of Test Development, Post

School Division who contributed immensely to make this career guide book a reality. I also thank the Public Communication

Section for editing and spearheading the production of the guide.
