FAITHFUL NAVIGATOR REPORT – Guy DeLuca Worthy Brother Sir Knights,

August was a busy month for the Corpus Christi Assembly 2810. We conducted the installation of Assembly Officers on August 20th. I want to thank DD Kevin Ryan and Father Manny Lopez for

their participation as Masters of Ceremony. It was a very moving ceremony. Claudia Gasparino was very gracious in providing the roses for the spouses of the officers and other Sir Knights in attendance. It was great to see her again (see photos, page 6).

There was an Exemplification Ceremony conducted in Jacksonville on August 22nd at the Assumption Catholic Church. There were 85 candidates in attendance that received their 4th degree. Corpus Christi Assembly 2810 had 11 candidates. I would like to welcome the following new Sir Knights to our Assembly: Mark Cremeans, David Knox, Pat Fruehan, Chris Daley, Jim Rossow, John Picucci, Greg Wilson, Paul Schulten, John Schulten, Chaz Sobczak, and Joe Jurec. I would also like to welcome two Sir Knights that have transferred to our

Assembly: Sir Knight Mike Tennyson and Sir Knight Jim St. John (see photo of new Assembly 2810 members below).

DD Kevin Ryan is planning our annual 9-11 memorial ceremony at the Flagler Beach Pier on Friday, September 11, 2020. It will be followed by a procession to Santa Maria del Mar Church where Father Manny will conduct a “Blue” Mass (see article & flyer, page 5).

Our September Corpus Christi Assembly Business meeting will be moved to the 4th Tuesday in September. The meeting will be September 22, 2020 at 5:00 PM at the Santa Maria del Mar Church. The Assembly Officer’s Meeting will be on the same date and location at 4:00 PM.

Mary, Queen of the Knights please keep us in your prayers and guide us to have a successful fraternal year. May God keep you and your families’ safe during these difficult times. God bless you all.

Vivat Jesus! Guy De Luca, Faithful Navigator

INSURANCE REPORTRaising Awareness About Life Insurance

Each September since 2003 has been designated as Life Insurance Awareness Month. Like most awareness-raising

campaigns, Life Insurance Awareness Month was created because there is an overwhelming lack of understanding of life insurance, its uses, its benefits, and its variations among the general public. Each year, the Life Insurance Market Research Association (LIMRA) puts out the results from a recent survey, and unfortunately, the numbers they report continue to be discouraging.

A recent survey found that more than 75 percent of people polled did not have a personal financial advisor, even though 68 percent of them said their opinion of the current economic conditions was somewhat unfavorable or very unfavorable.

In other words, a majority of those surveyed were uncomfortable with the economy and the uncertainty it brings, yet they did not seek professional assistance. Maybe they spoke with their friends and

family. Maybe they hoped the instability would go away on its own. Maybe they did not know to whom to turn.

If you fall into this category, please remember that as a member of the Knights of Columbus, you have a full-time, professional agent you can call your own. My primary responsibility is the care and service of your family’s life insurance, retirement and long-term care needs. I’ll answer your questions because I want your decisions to be informed ones. I want to help.

Another LIMRA statistic said 43 percent of people did not buy life insurance because they worry about “making the wrong decision.” Talk with me, your agent, and, afterwards, you’ll understand that the only wrong decision was not purchasing sooner to protect your family’s future.

9-11 Remembrance Ceremony at Flagler Beach Pier Scheduled

Notre Dame Council #10514 will hold its Eighteenth September 11th Remembrance Ceremony at the Flagler Pier. Program Chairman and District Deputy, Kevin Ryan, will once again organize the ceremony. He is working with the City of Flagler Beach and Flagler County Sheriff's Dept. who are very supportive of this event. The Corpus Christi Assembly 2810 Fourth Degree Color Corp members will lead a procession on the Flagler Pier carrying the American Flag, the Papal Flag, as well as the Knights of Columbus Ceremonial Flag. They will be followed by KofC council officers and members, local dignitaries, police officers, firefighters, other first responders. The ceremony will be followed by a ‘Blue Mass’ with Assembly Honor Guard at Santa Maria del Mar Church celebrated by Pastor and Council Chaplain, Fr. Manny Lopez. The public is invited. Masks and Social Distancing will be required.

A PRAYER FOR PROTECTION IN TIME OF PANDEMIC

O Mary, you always brighten our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who, at the Cross, took part in Jesus’ pain while remaining steadfast in faith. O loving Mother, you know what we need, and we are confident you will provide for us as at Cana in Galilee. Intercede for us with your Son Jesus, the Divine Physician, for those who have fallen ill, for those who are vulnerable, and for those who have died. Intercede also for those charged with protecting the health and safety of others and for those who are tending to the sick and seeking a cure. Help us, O Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who took upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows, so as to lead us, through the Cross, to the glory of the Resurrection. Amen. Under thy protection we seek refuge, O Holy Mother of God. In our needs, despise not our petitions, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
