KNITTING NEEDLES: 1 pair "Boye" Non-Inflammable Needles, Size 3 OR

SIZE YOU REQUIRE TO KNIT TO GAUGE GIVEN BELOW.

1 pair "Boye" Non-Inflammable Needles, Size 2 for ribbing.

"Boye" Non-Inflammable Hook, Size D.

GAUGE: Size 3 Needles - 8 sts = 1 inch

MEASUREMENTS FOR BLOCKING:

At bustline inches 33 35 37 39

Width of back at underarm inches 16 17 18 19

Width of sleeves at underarm inches 12 13 13 14

The vertical stripes are worked in later with a slip stitch.

BACK - With size 2 needles and A, cast on sts 130 138 146 154

Work k 1, p 1 ribbing for 3 ins. Inc. 1 st in first st of last row.

With size 3 needles, work stockinette st-k 1 row, p 1 row-on sts 131 139 147 155

until 8 ins. above ribbing. Mark for underarm.

Armholes - Bind off 8 sts at beg. of each of the next 2 rows.

Dec. 1 st each side every 2nd row times 5 7 9 11

Work even on sts 105 109 113 117

until measurements above underarm are ins 7 7 7 7

Shoulder Shaping - Bind off at beg. of each of next 4 rows sts 8 8 9 9

Bind off at beg. of each of next 4 rows sts 8 9 9 10

FRONT - With size 2 needles and A, cast on sts 130 138 146 154

Work same as for back until 7 ins. above ribbing, end with p row sts 131 139 147 155

Begin neck border. K sts 56 60 62 66

* k 1, p 1; repeat from * times 8 8 10 10

k 1; k remaining sts 56 60 62 66

The rib panel will have sts 19 19 23 23

Next row P sts 56 60 62 66

* p 1, k 1; repeat from * times 8 8 10 10

p 1; p remaining sts 56 60 62 66

Repeat the last 2 rows until same length to underarm as back, end with p row.

Armhole and Neck Shaping - Bind off 8 sts at beg. of each of next 2 rows sts 115 123 131 139

Divide for Neck - K 2 tog., k sts 45 49 51 55

k 2 tog., * p 1, k 1; repeat from * times 3 3 4 4

Place these sts on holder for left side sts 55 59 63 67

Bind off 1 st for center of neck.

Right Side - * K 1, p 1; repeat from * times 3 3 4 4with yarn in back of work, slip 1 st as to p, k 1, pass slip st over k st, k to within 2

sts of end, k 2 tog.

Next row - P sts 47 51 53 57

* k 1, p 1; repeat from * times 3 3 4 4

Repeating last 2 rows of right side, dec. 1 st at armhole edge every 2nd row times 4 6 8 10

SLEEVES - With size 3 needles and A, cast on sts 80 84 88 92

Entire sleeve is worked in k 1, p 1 ribbing. Inc. 1 st each side every 4th row 10

Work even until 5 ins. from beg.

Bind off 8 sts at beg. of each of the next 2 rows.

Dec. 1 st each side every 2nd row times 27 28 29 30

Bind off 3 sts at beg. of each of next 6 rows. Bind off in ribbing sts 12 14 16 18

COLLAR - With size 3 needles and A, cast on sts 29 29 31 31

K 1, * p 1, k 1; repeat from * to end.

Next row - P 1, * k 1, p 1; repeat from * to end.

Repeat last 2 rows for collar, working until ins. 14 14 15 15

from beg. Bind off in ribbing.

FINISHING - With B, work a slip st in each row of each p st stripe on front rib panel, collar and sleeves. With A, work 1 row slip st

around neck edge keeping work flat, 1 row slip st around collar and sleeve edges. Sew seams. Sew in sleeves matching seams. Sew

on collar having center of collar at center of back. Block.
