Tax Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)

The Pega-provided FATCA rulesets include rules and logic for pre-existing account reviews of low value and high value individuals, with decision logic that applies those rulesets based on account value aggregation.

The new account rulesets include rules for taxable entities, international and government organizations, tax-exempt entities, insurance companies, and individuals. The new account rulesets are set to apply to all customers, regardless of value, as account values fluctuate and the most conservative approach is to categorize the customer at the start of the relationship and instead use account value to determine whether you must report the customer or not on an ongoing basis.

All of these rulesets assist in categorizing the customer and identifying whether they are reportable for FATCA. The rules are not IGA specific but rather represent the most conservative approach.

The rulesets also identify what type of tax document you should collect based on the customer categorization.

Common Reporting Standard (CRS)

The Pega-provided CRS rules include pre-existing account reviews for low value and high value individuals as well as new account rulesets for taxable entities and individuals.

All of these rulesets assist in identifying the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) jurisdiction or jurisdictions in which the customer is reportable to CRS.
