History Man by nature, is a social and political animal. He cannot live by bread alone. Like a child deprived of mothers handling, develops psychological and physical problems in an adult, like a solitary confinement being a punishment most severe, social interaction is an inevitable ingredient of civilized society.

After the search for food and shelter man yearns for recognition in the society he lives in. In a latter stage he seeks manifestation/realization of the mission of his life. There he doesn’t think of the material returns and wok selflessly to pay back something to the society which developed him to the present status. Helping the needy, serving to eradicate the suffering of the downtrodden becomes prime importance to him. Its here he feels Giants provide a Universal platform where he can meet many thinking on the common cause and transform that thinking to action.

Those to whom life has been kind should not accept this good fortune as a matter of course, but it’s one’s duty to think continually of those who have been denied this privilege.

With this one thought in mind Giants International was formally launched in Bombay in 1972. An Active and Service Oriented group of individuals under the leadership of Shri Nana Chudasama got together to start a service organization which would work towards the betterment of society and the upliftment of the poor and underprivileged, with the ultimate goal of blossoming into a truly International Service Organization. Nana was the only one who was sheriff in the Mumbai for 2 years in the row.

Giants International is India’s first International Service Organization. The foundation and basis of this movement were the courage of conviction, moral leadership and intellectual integrity of the Indian people in accepting Giants as an organization which would work towards bettering world communities, deriving its strength from compassion and virtue to always bring good cheer and hope in the community.

WHAT GIANTS STANDS FOR Each letter is significant in the word ‘G I A N T S’. It is an acronym and stands for Generosity, Integrity, Action, Nobility, Truthfulness and Service. These qualities are manifestations of good solid citizenship. Each member of the organization is expected to live up to these ideals.

GIANTS movement provides its members an ideology base and organization platform to enable citizens to play their role for community welfare. Every good citizen wishes to do some useful social services. Giants translate that wish into will.

Every citizen has a responsibility to contribute and do something which goes beyond the welfare and happiness of his own family. Our member makes a commitment that with Generosity in his heart and with Integrity as his guide, he shall carry out his Actions and with Nobility in his heart and Truth as his guide he shall do service that he shall be G I A N T S.


AIMS & OBJECTIVES

› To promote unity. Harmony, homogeneity and self-discipline among the members through the bonds of friendship and fellowship. › To promote high ethical standards in business and professions. › To create greater awareness among business and professionals about their responsibilities and obligations towards the community and the country.

› To apply the ideal of service to the community and national life. › To encourage the advancement of International understanding, goodwill and peace through the spirit of co- operation. › To practice the principles of good citizenship through active participation in the civic, social and economic life of the community. › GIANTS strives to achieve much more than this it is a new way of life with its members.

The Central Committee and the Special Committee are the highest policy making body and is headed by the World Chairman. The Federation is the formation of a body to co-ordinate and generally direct and supervise the activities and administration of Giants Groups headed by a Federation President along with his team of Federation Officers. Every Giants Groups must have a minimum of at least 25 members and each city or town can have as many Groups as can function smoothly.

Giants International Charitable Trust is registered and donations are exempted under 80G under IT.

501 groups existing as on December 2005 including 15 groups abroad say Nairobi, Kenya, London, Uganda, Mauritius, Malawi, Ukraine, USA, Nepal etc….......contd.

Projects worth more than a crore are carried out by Giants in different parts of the world. More than 50000 projects are carried out every year. The teams of doctors and service minded people always rise up to attend emergency and crises management situations may it may be

Some of the projects : Family Planning Last year about 50000 operations completed Aids and Drugs awareness / Education / Medical / Tree plantation / water conservation . One of the project that entered the limca book of world record is 1,25000 lightening of diya at Chedda Nagar sports ground by Chembur group. Mr. T.K Subramaniyam was project manager. About Giants Group Of Pune Metro Giants Group Of Pune was started by honorable MP Shri Suresh Kalmadi about 35 years ago. Under his dynamic leadership many projects were undertaken and were successful. Giants Group Of Pune Metro is affiliated to Giants International and it’s chartered on 2nd April 2010 on auspicious day of Good Friday. As of today we have 65+ members and it’s growing fast. Re-birth of Giants Social activities in Pune after 30 years break took place under dynamic and multi-talented Shri Shantanu Bhamare who is Deputy General Manager in IBM & Vice President of PMI Pune-Deccan India Chapter. He is an International Award Winner “Volunteer Leader Of The Year 2008-Asia Pacific Region" given by Project Management Institute (PMI) USA. He got recognized at Leadership Meeting in Denver, CO, USA in October 2008.

Giants Group Of Pune Metro Saheli Giants Group Of Pune Metro would like to sponsor Giants Group Of Pune Metro Saheli if 25 women can come together of age 18+. Giants Group Of Pune Metro Saheli can do same projects as that of Giants Group Of Pune Metro as well as they can focus on Projects & Programs related to women related issues like Save Girl Child, Adoption of Girl Child, Family Planning, Violence at home, AIDS, Rehabilitation, etc. Eligibility : A group of women, age 18+ years. Fees : Same as that of Giants Group Of Pune Metro Note : Cheque/DD should be drawn in favor of "Giants Group Of Pune Metro Saheli" payable at Pune

Young Giants Group Of Pune Metro Eligibility : Any person male or female between the age of 12 to 25 years (subject to unmarried). Fees : Rs. 150/- only. Objectives and purposes of Young Giants are the same as those of Giants Group Of Pune Metro. They shall undertake all such activities that will promote the aims & objectives of Giants with prior clearance from the Parent Group i.e. Giants Group Of Pune Metro. They shall assist the Giants Group Of Pune Metro with their projects and the Giants Group of Pune Metro will encourage, promote and develop Young Giants in all respects to enable it to play its meaningful role for the youth. If you want to excel in your leadership skills, enhance your skills in planning, organizing, executing & controlling you may want to become President / Vice President or any officer of Young Giants Group Of Pune Metro and lead to from the front. To excel and enhance your skills our continuous guidance and support would be always there to you !

Mini Giants Group of Pune Metro Eligibility : Any person male or female between the age of 5 to 12 years. Fees : NIL However members should be from our family only so that there is no burden of pick-up and dropping them at home. By having Young Giants & Mini Giants groups it helps lot in our projects and programs as well as whole family stays together all the time !
