What is Podcasting?
• The latest in on-the-go, on-demand technology.
•Radio Programs•TV Shows•Audio Books •.transferred to an iPod or other digital media player.
What equipment do I need?
• a computer (PC or Mac), • podcasting software • Internet connection. • For portability, an iPod or other digital media player is needed.
Why is this important?
•1 in 10 adults own an MP3 player (22 million people)
•20% of citizens under the age of 30 have an MP3 player
•In 2004 a Google search podcast-turned up 3,300 hits
•In 2007…177,000,000
•Apple has sold 10 million iPods
• Apple controls 90% of the market
• Estimates claim there are 33 million MP3 players and another 600 million cell phones with MP3 capability

•The Fog Index indicates the number of years of formal education required to read and understand a passage of text. •The Flesch Index another indicator of reading ease. 100 being easiest to read. Scores between 90 and 100 are appropriate for 5th and 6th graders, while a college level is a score between 0 and 30. •The Flesch-Kincaid tries to relate the Flesch score to a U.S. grade level.
