Abstract
This study was conducted to describe knowledge attitude and practice of leaders of community herbal
product producers, and to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitude and practice of Leader of
Community Herbal Product Producer and the strength of Herbal Product Producer. The structured questionnaire was
posted to the community herbal product leaders to collect data. Food producers were excluded from the sample.
Results showed that most of community herbal product producers were womens group (66.67%), and it is
not juristic person (73.96 %). Most of leaders were female (69.87%). The age of leaders was greater than 60 years
(66.22%), and had primary education level (25.22%) and secondary education level (39.82%). The duration to be
the leaders was about 6 years. Most of community herbal product producers had a high level of strength in all
aspects: general information of community product producers and organization structure, production, product
development and product standard, and market, and also had a high level of strength in only production aspect and
marketing aspect (86.40%, and 57.38%, respectively).
Most of community herbal product producers had the moderate level of overall knowledge (61.36%).
However, considering each aspect the level of knowledge in administration was high (88.64%). The attitude level of
community herbal product producers in all aspects: general information of community product producer,
administration, production, and marketing was moderate. The results also found that more than 95% of community
herbal product producers had high level of practice in administration, production, and marketing.
The knowledge in all aspects and knowledge in each aspects: general information of community product
producers, administration, production, and marketing were not found statistically significant relationship with the
strength of community herbal product producers. The attitude of leader in all aspects: general information of
community product producers, administration, production, and marketing, only in general information of
community product producers, and only in production, and marketing were found the positive relationship with the
strength of community herbal product producers in all aspects, and also in marketing at significant level 0.05.
Furthermore, the practice of leaders in all aspects: practice in administration, production, and marketing , only
administration, and only marketing were found statistically significant at 0.05 with the strength of community herbal
product producers in all aspects, in administration, and in marketing.
The findings of this study suggested that the activities or projects to increase the knowledge to the leaders
and members of community herbal product producers, and to promote the strengthening of community herbal
product producers, and to make it sustainable should be provided by Thai government or related organization. They
should be covered not only administration aspect, production aspect, or marketing aspect, but also in all aspects.
