They might be similar - yet they are not equal!For many machine tools on the market, you will nd products that look very similar to the original brand - but this does not mean that they are anywhere close to equal! What diff erentiates a KNUTH Machine Tool?
1. We have been working closely together with our more than 50 suppliers in Asia for many years. During these years, we have collected valuable experience and we know, who works with great care and who truly can be proud of producing a reliable product. 2. We check out new suppliers and new designs at trade shows and then follow up with an on-site review. We decide at the manufacturers plant, if the product has any chance to qualify for inclusion in our portfolio. Only after we are totally convinced that the manufacturer
has the full in-house capacities to build the machine, has an established, problem-free production line, and can enforce and ful ll our accuracy and safety requirements, we will start building a business relationship. There is a well-founded reason for this careful consideration. As it is the case for many products from Asia, there also are many cheap, low-grade copies of original machine tools. Original Equipment Manufacturers usually are the best choice for ensuring good quality. They value and pursue good quality, while all the copycats have only two objectives: cheap copying and quick pro ts. Many of this plagiarists copy ma-chines without having any technical know-how, or they buy up rejected OEM parts and add some other components to them in order to create a machine that looks very similar to the original machine made by the OEM. These type of systems come without service or spare parts supplies!
3. Prior to any rst order from a new supplier, we specify: exact requirements and pro les for the materials and for externally purchased components precision and safety standards nal acceptance test logs and certi cates to transfer.
4. After the rst manufacturing stage, one of seven in-spectors at the Service and Purchasing Offi ce in Shen-zhen will travel to the manufacturers plant to check the castings for irregularities and cavitation. The inspector will visit the plant two more times until the nal acceptance test certi cate is signed, and the machine can be shipped to Germany.

55. Our German engineers meet regularly with their Asian colleagues on site at one of more than 50 supplier opera-tions to discuss and implement new requirements and improvements.

6. Before shipping, your machine will undergo a thorough nal check. At this check, all settings, accuracies and PLCs are tested and documented. Subsequently, any addi-tional componentes, like chucks and position indicators, will be mounted, and the machine will be put on its way to you. You, as a customer, are welcome any time to accompany the entire process at our facilities.
7. For our CNC machine customers, we are off ering a free Introduction Day.
8. We document the entire machine production process, from day 1 to the nished product. All involved people at the plant will document any work they do on your machine in a dedicated document that will be completed and maintained by on-site inspectors as well as engineers and technicians in Germany.
9. Every delivered machine is accompanied by a CD that contains the operator manual, a spare parts list and the Acceptance Test Log and Certi cate. If you still should have any questions during system startup or at a later time, please call our free telephone service.
10. Of course, any machine may be in need of repair at some point. In this case, we can help promptly. Our daily electronic data analysis of spare parts orders plus main-taining an adequate stock for quick availability allow us to act faster and better than many of our competitors. Many supplied parts, like seals, bearings, hydraulic and elec-tronic components are sourced from European suppliers to ensure high availability. If a part must be procured from the manufacturer, our team in China will get into direct contact with the manufacturer to ensure quickest possible delivery to your plant.If you need assistance in any repair work, our service team will send you an experienced service technician. For us it is very important that your down-time is kept to a minimum, and that we can count on you as a customer reference.
