Welcome to the Knysna Arts Festival 2015 – the second stage in our journey to revive the festival that was founded by Dale and Janny Elliott in the 1990s.Through more than 70 events, this year’s Festival is a celebration of both the visual and the performing arts – and, with the addition of our Knysna Natter (with its talks, walks and discussions) – of the brilliance of the intellectual life of Knysna. All this has been made possible with sponsorship from Sotheby’s International Reality – whose staff (Peter Mare,
Natalie Scanlen, Richard Court) have become key (and very keen) players in the project. Other members of the organising team include Martin Green (organiser for the performing arts), Joan Huskisson (Knysna Natter), Glynis Fish (events), and the staff of Knysna & Partners. We thank them all – as we thank the artists, crafters, musicians, actors, scientists, businesspeople, and dreamers who’ve graced this year’s Festival with the brilliance of their creativity. And thank you, too, for your support. Owen Roberts – Festival Organiser

This show - which was devised, written, and produced by Roy, with sound, visuals and musical direction by Baden Hall – is no Elvis impersonation. Rather, it’s an appreciative reminiscence of the singer who changed the face of popular music, as well the world’s approach to everything from style and dress to our attitude to sex.Roy Taylor has been involved in the entertainment business since he was 19. He hails from Bournemouth in the UK – where he played in his own band, The Johnny Quantrose Five – and he’s shared the stage with great musicians like The Rolling Stones, Manfred Man, the late Cilla Black, and many others. In South Africa he’s written for, acted and sung on stage and radio. He now lives in Knysna.Show time: Friday at 19h30 at the Knysna Golf Club. Includes dinner.
