In the first half of 2020, ŠKODA AUTO delivered 426,700 vehicles to its customers. The reason for the current development is the global coronavirus pandemic, which has affected most markets.

ŠKODA AUTO RESUMES PRODUCTION

Production was gradually restarted at all plants in April. The car maker has taken dozens of precautions to protect the staff from coronavirus in their workplace.

SUCCESS IN ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Since the start of 2020, ŠKODA AUTO has recycled all the waste created during manufacturing and usually disposed of in landfills, either materially or thermally. Additionally, the Vrchlabí plant will become the first CO2-neutral ŠKODA AUTO production site by the end of the year. The greatest savings were made by switching to renewable energies.

3 MILLIONTH EA211 ENGINE

ŠKODA AUTO has manufactured its three millionth EA211 in Mladá Boleslav. The first EA211 rolled off the production line in 2012, and around 800 workers currently build three- and four-cylinder variants with capacities ranging between 1.0 and 1.6 l. These are installed both in the company’s own vehicles and other Volkswagen Group brand models. The company manufactured its first engine in 1899.
